Really comfortable on long rides.
I own the triban 500 bibs and after 3000k decided to get a new pair of bibs and upgrade to this pair. Read some concerning reviews about ripping or tearing but I have had them on for about 600k, 10 rides or so and they feel great and have had no problems. I like that they have longer legs than the triban 500 bibs.
I really wanted to like everything from Decathlon. However, it seems like the things that are good are the items that are impossible to screw up - water bottles, base layers, anything that is relatively simple.
I have used this bib indoor ONLY. Ride ranging 1-2 hours, longest being a virtual 100km Zwift but the chamois problems already existed. I am not sure how the chamois is sewn in but pieces of mine are coming detached, which then rub against my skin/fold on itself inside the bib. Pretty disappointed, but, thats the risk you get. Seems to be spot on with some of the other reviews.
Very good and very comfortable
Really good fit and very comfortable
Getting right bibs is rather difficult and usually people need to try multiple ones to find just the ones to fit them right. i tried couple from online vendors that were cheap and not as comfortable for long rides, then I tried ones that were up to twice as expensive as these Van Rysel RCR ones, but the fit just wasn't right. These fit just perfect for me. the material used is soft, not thick, probably best for warmer days, they just "disappear" when you ride in them. The inseam length is just right, not too long and not short. The best part is the pad and sizing. Elastic Pad is superb for me, it's not thin but also not super thick, it is fairly dense and works really well for my bottoms. The sizing around the hip is tight as you put them on but once riding it's perfect, don't feel them on ! There is nothing rubbing, no extra material that would bunch up in between belly and the jewels. The cut in front is lower than other options I tried but it works well, an inch or two under the belly button. The suspenders are good, since bibs are tighter in the hip area, the elastic material just keeps everything in place so well that suspenders don't need to do much work to keep things from getting loose. I'm 5'10" at 195lb, pretty athletic build but being a bit older I have a small belly, pants size 34. I suppose the cut being lower, the little extra belly fat does not get in the way at all. Size large L works perfect for me. These are a bit tighter than some American companies size L but this seems to work great for me. I will definitely be buying another pair just in case Decathlon decides to change something with these - I hope they will not.
Bought the shorts and matching jersey, for its price its a bargin. These are race fit though, so go up a size or two if you dont want it skin tight.
All in all, im very happy with the shorts, nice padding snd looks way more expensive than they are.
I am fairly new to road cycling but know a fair bit about technical sportswear and these Van Rysel Bib Shorts are excellent value. I ordered a few different pairs from various brands to try on and settled on these Van Rysels. They look great, fit well and remain comfortable after several 100km + rides with no sign of any wear and tear.
Based upon my initial research, you could spend twice the price or more from other brands and not do any better. Personally, I'd rather put the saving towards upgrading the wheels and components on my road bike.
To the Decathlon Product Team - please keep up the great work on the Van Rysel range!
Liking these. Comfy straps. Better than the string type.
If you want an good pair of bibs for not too much money get these.
