If you're learning clipless it's a little difficult finding a way to step off with the clipless side in the right position. My foot slipped one time and left a decent cut in my calf. Otherwise a good compromise if you might want to just use flats.
Have never used such pedals before, but thought they could be good on my gravel bike. The option of having them with clips and as platforms seemed appealing. Bought those rather than similar Shimano ones as they are much lighter. They may not be very heavy duty, but are certainly fit for the purpose and so far they have been fine. The springs tension may need some re-setting at the outset to suit. They work well with my ST 100 Mountain Bike Shoes which I bought at the same time.
Great and love the fact I can be clipped in or lose and just free pedalling.
Bough a pair of these to replace similar that were getting old, they feel cheap and have been assembled badly, one would not spin and the other was stiff so i had to dismantle them and loosen them off but even then they are not smooth, i think they use square ball bearings, if you can afford it go for something better, if you are prepared to take them apart and reassemble them and you want to go cheap and nasty then these are ideal but the best place for them is the bin.
These pedals are well made but that does make them a bit heavy. Ok I know they are not road race gear but still, compared with equivalent Shimano pair I have on another bike they are not light. Also they need some disassembly to be able to adjust the tension for the clip in/out action.
However, my main issue is with the bearings, which are as stiff as a stiff thing. I had hoped they would wear in, but they haven't yet...
Overall, spend a bit more and get the Shimano ones.

Works great. I had the store fit them for me as I had issues getting the factory fitted ones off the bike
Affordable dual sided MTB SPD pedals but started squeaking within the first week of usage. The tension is too high initially, so you'll have to remove the rear reflector to loosen it. It's quite tough to do so, and requires quite a bit of effort. After a month of usage, the bearings squeak even more and after half a year of usage, the grease inside the bearings can no longer be felt as the pedals cannot turn smoothly anymore—to the point you can feel the bearings inside refusing to move until sufficient force is applied. It would be nice if there's a way for us to apply more grease to the bearings as it's sealed quite tightly and there's no servicing options for the pedals.
We apologize for your experience and inconveniences caused.
The SPD Pedals are made for cyclists who are more inclined to use pedals but also wish to clip in their shoes in. Otherwise, the pedals are made with sealed cartridge bearings and we won't be able to service it.
Another alternative could be the XC LIGHT SPD COMPATIBLE PEDALS as it comes without the pedal cage and able to adjust the tensioner with ease!
Thank you and we appreciate you submitting your feedback with us!
These are exactly as expected.
It would have been good if the pedal doesn't catch. It doesn't spin smoothly at all.
