TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Pitching/striking

Tent recommended with self-inflating mattresses or trekking mattresses up to 60 cm wide.
We do not recommend the use of inflatable mattresses more than 6 cm thick in this tent due to a significant degradation of the living space and resistance to condensation.

Mattress compatibility

Ventilation

Flysheet with 2 side panels that can spread out and hook onto the side ropes (open from the inside). Air can circulate in the bedroom. The entire rear sleeping area fly can also be lifted from the inside by pulling on a rope. 2 spaces between the flysheet and the ground on each side in the middle of the bedroom to allow air renewal and limit the natural occurrence of condensation as much as possible. Fresh concept reduces solar heat.

Waterproofing

All Quechua tents are tested in the laboratory (whole tent under 200 L/m²/hr for 4 hours), as well as in field tests.
(2000 mm PU-coated polyester flysheet, 120 g/m² polyethylene groundsheet, all seams sealed with thermo-bonded tape). The presence of a breathable polyester bedroom under the flysheet helps avoid contact with drops of condensation that can be deposited on the inside of the flysheet.

Wind resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel with a rotating table to expose each side of the tent to the wind. A properly-assembled tent with all the guy ropes deployed around the tent must remain habitable with a wind speed measured at 50 km/h near the ground (Force 6).

Easy to use pops up easy set it up in the living room to try out and I would suggest watching the videos on YouTube on how to pack it but also setting it up and taking it down a few times before taking it out there is a little trick to folding it back up in the twist when you pull the orange string, takes a bit of practice. Other than that probably the easiest pop up tent I’ve seen because it is colour coded and has clips to dismantle. Can’t wait to see how it’s going to hold up for camping this season the 3 person fits myself (small female) and my partner (medium build male) quite well however he does have to sleep at a bit of an angle since he’s a bit tall. The 2 of us can sit up nicely in it not stand but it’s a pop up tent! It folds very small into the circle which makes for transport and last min camping trips easier

The weather put this tent to the test the first night I used it. It survived a 2 hour heavy rain fall and thunderstorm. No leaks or condensation issues. Setup and takedown is very quick and easy. Well thought out design features ie mesh storage pockets on both sides, ability to completely open side windows for more air flow, rear wall that retracts to allow more airflow. The Dark out fabric is a great feature for privacy and sleep comfort.

Generally good tent, take-down is torturous

Into my third season with this 3-person tent. Its been pretty solid, even in wind. It's big enough for me but probably would get tight with two people. Usually takes me a minute or two to set it up. Never been able to take it down when packing up so flatten it as much as I can then once home set it up in the garage, watch the video a few times, struggle a bit, and eventually get it bagged up. Just went through that exercise and had it packed up in about 30-40 minutes. That's my usual. The door zipper is pretty taught so you have to work it a little to close it. It would be nice if there was flooring between the screen and door so you could avoid stepping on the ground.
