Why wear gym shoes?

Our Sportslab studies show that fitness and sports activities involve many diverse movements. Our shoes are designed to help you perform movements like twists, repeated jumps, squats, and lunges injury-free. Wearing proper shoes, as compared to wearing running shoes, reduces injury risk by 20%.

Drop: height difference between the front and back of the foot

All of our gym shoes have a 4 mm drop. The 4 mm drop is close to your natural foot position (barefoot = no drop). Remember: if you're used to shoes with too much drop, such as high heels, it will take some time to get used to these shoes.

Multi-directional flexibility

Multi-directional flexibility refers to how well a shoe flexes and twists to support direction changes.
Studies have shown that gym activities need 1.7 times more flex and extension than running. The ankle's movement depends on the type of exercise or running. That's why we've created multi-directional shoes specifically for the gym.

Ball of the foot support

Why is it important? Proper support for the ball of the foot, a must, keeps you balanced when you change direction.

Ball of the foot cushioning

Cushioning is the shoe’s ability to dampen impacts and vibration.
The ball of the foot is the main point of impact between the foot and the floor during gym activities and at the heel when running. With excellent cushioning at the ball of the foot, our shoes protect from repeated impacts and stabilize the supporting leg to help you string movements together more smoothly.

Grip and rotation

This model's grip lets you change direction quickly and easily, while the pivot zone has less grip so you can turn and spin easily without putting pressure on your joints. Striking the right balance of grip is essential. Sensory, mechanical and biomechanical tests allow us to determine the right level of grip and which part of your foot is in contact with the floor as you pivot.

Can you run on a treadmill wearing gym shoes?

Our gym shoes are tailored for cardio fitness workouts. They can also be used for limited treadmill running. Wear them for a quick warm-up/cool-down on the treadmill before or after a class. However, if you plan to only run on a treadmill or outdoors, it’s safest to choose a shoe that’s specifically designed for running.

Are gym shoes for indoor use only?

Cardio workouts are mainly done at gyms and/or at home. Our shoes designed for indoor use. Since it is softer, rubber is well-suited for indoor use. Using these shoes outdoors causes premature wear. Soles are tested for floors used in gyms or in homes, and rubber is designed to grip better to such surfaces.

Very expensive and he inner sole is not comfortable my foot started paining while I wear this shoe even light walk on treadmill are painful.

Too Tight In Front

I am so sorry that you had an unpleasant experience with the Women's Occasional Shoe. Our fitness shoes are designed lighter than regular shoes to give you the benefit of versatile movement. The mesh however is lighter to improve breathability while you exercise. Nevertheless, if the damage is hampering your daily fitness regime, I would request you to visit any of our store for an exchange. It is however, strongly recommend not to use Fitness shoes for daily usage as it can damage the product.
