I would strongly recommend not to buy these bare alu-alloy quickdraws, if you are climbing in Krabi. In the humid and salty environment, they oxidize like crazy. I had a new set with me for 5 monts, barely climbed on them, nontheless, after this short period, the carabiners lo
ok like after 15 years of use.Sure they will do the job, if you are in desperate need and short of cash, but if you are buying them to last, I would suggest to look for eloxed carabiners. The plastic spring feels cheap, but I did not have a problem with it so far. It may paradoxically be an advantage in Thailand, since the spring will not rust. It would be a good idea for Decathlon Thailand include affordable eloxed quickdraws in their offer. One suggesstion to Decathlon: Why does not Simond make and eloxed variation of this same quickdraw? They do it on the screwlock carabiner, they sure would be able to apply it on quickdraws as well.
