Fits small. So do get a couple of sizes down. Better to try it at a retail store first. Otherwise no complaints. Have worn it twice for indoor climbing.
These shoes are my favorite from all my shoes i had (6 pairs). I climbed on them my first V8. They are very delicate and sensitive, the best for slabs, vertical and event slightly overhang walls. The only issue with these shoes are bad heel (too sensitive and easly for slipping the foot with higher force on them). They are really cheap and the durabilty of the rubber is really good. I really reccomend these pair of shoes for begginers and for intermediate climbers. I bought 1 size less than my normal size of shoes and feel great.
These shoes are very small so I would advise everyone to order one size above their usual size. I had to return them and re-order a new pair.
Beginner's climbing shoe, not hold on small edges
Doesn't give a good grip on minute foot holds and has to compromise the comfort. But a good deal who want to start climbing.
My kid likes climbing and we wanted to go on a regular basis so the price was tempting as rental usually cost 5-10 SGD. The shoes are good and provide a good grip, but the heel is shaped weirdly. Once we stay for more than 1h, we have to deal with blisters.
Hello Stephen,
Thank you for your review on our Climbing product: "CLIMBING SHOES - ROCK".
It's good to hear that you and your kid is taking up climbing as a regular sports. And those shoes you got for both of you, yes - they could save you some dollars rather than renting them from the climbing gym.
These are actually beginner's climber shoes. They are shaped and designed in that respect because beginner climber usually may still not master the toe hook or heel hook ability. So the shape meant to assist on that toe & heel hook thingy. And as in any new shoes, including these climbing ones, they need time to break (to become seasoned) before they are comfortable. The other thing is, the shoes are to put on only when climbing and when resting, to be removed. Thus for this purpose, the velcro type than the lace one, are practical and of which you may want to consider in future.....

I wear these shoes 3 months now, they are very good and fit well, i have climbed with this IV , V , VI routes. The only thought is that i wear in regular shoes 43+ and i choose 42 in these. After use them 4-5 times they were a little bigger and now i wear them with shocks to fit better. So be careful with your choise. Overall perfect shoe for beggining or a comfort shoe for multipitch. Greetings from Greece
its a good product to start climbing.
very good at price point of view !! and can be used in a very rough way and would not get damaged that easily
but can not do technical moves, can not continue learning more or go a bit deep with moves with this.
these were the first shoe i bought and they've done me well over the last few months - very durable considering the price. not the most comfortable shoes i've worn, very rigid so not much room for movement and the fact there is only one seam for the loop on the heel means that it's very uncomfortable on the achilles, so much so that for the first month i often had to take a break mid climb to give that part of my foot a break. i also find the soles very slippery at first and it's only now that that has started to get better. great for if you are new to the sport and don't want to spend heaps of money on your first pair of shoes but sometimes it's worth just spending the money
For a beginner's shoe, i have to say that this product rank low among beginner shoe of other brands. The rubber is not as sticky as other brands and it gets worn out easily. The shoelaces are also not very durable as mine snapped after about a few months and i had to change to regular shoe laces. Anatomically, i understand why the shoe has a simple, basic built. However, i feel that there are some factors that can be improved. As a climber who was once a beginner, i feel that this shoe does not give the climber the right equipment and potential to grow. I feel that there should be rubber on the top of the toes so that new climbers can train toe hooks. Also, i feel that the heel section of the shoe should be more reinforced and have a more stable and firm design so that new climbers can practice the proper heel-hooking form. The toe and the heel are very important aspects for climbers to work on so that they can be more efficient on the wall by being able to utilise more of their feet rather than their upper body, which is a foundational skill a climber has to learn. On a side note, i think i speak for a number of people when i say that the design a too basic and not very appealing to climbers. To be honest, the shoe looks more like a school shoe. The colour scheme is too dull which may cause potential buyers to view the shoe as more of a low-class, budget and cheap shoe. The cheapest and basic Madrock shoe that i've found costs around $60 and honestly, through feedback from my climbing buddies, the shoes are known to be more long-lasting and technical.
