Return and exchange policy

Your sport journey is our priority and our goal is to deliver quality products that will support you on that journey! However, if you have second thoughts about your purchase or our products don’t live up to your expectations, we will certainly accept returns or exchanges as long as they conform to this Return Policy.

 

A product purchased in-store or online can be exchanged or returned for a refund within the following time frames:

  • Decathlon Members: 365 days
    Decathlon Members benefit from an exchange/return window of 365 days following the date of purchase. The purchase must have been made using your Decathlon Member number and be registered on your account.
  • Non-Members: 30 days with receipt
    If you are not a Decathlon Member, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to make an exchange or a return, upon presentation of your receipt.

 

Does my product qualify for a return?

Most products purchased at Decathlon Canada are eligible for a return, as long as they adhere to the following criteria:

  • The product is like new, in resalable condition. This means the product must be clean, minimally used, unaltered, and unwashed.
  • If care and information labels were originally included with the product (EX: clothing), such labels must be intact and must still be attached to the product.

 

Exclusions:

  • Perishable and/or consumable products that have been opened, are past their expiry date, and/or whose packaging has been damaged (EX: food, beverages, fish bait, bear spray, propane canisters, ammunition, etc.).
  • Products that have been customized for the client.
  • Products that are found to be dirty, stained, damaged, abused, or misused.
  • Decathlon Canada does not offer refunds for products purchased outside of Canada. Foreign Decathlon products that are also sold in Canada may qualify for an exchange or store credit if they meet the conditions of this Return Policy.

 

All shipping fees that may have been charged at the time of the original purchase are non-refundable.

Please note: Decathlon reserves the right to refuse a return request if the product does not respect this Return Policy.

 


 

FAQs

How can I return or exchange an item?

For purchases made on decathlon.ca:

Items that were purchased online can be returned either at any Decathlon store in Canada (free of charge) or by mail (with applicable fees). It does not matter whether you received your order by home delivery or in-store pick-up (EX: Click and Collect).

In-store return is the fastest way to get a refund for your online purchase. This reduces the time required to assess the quality of your return and, therefore, the time required to issue the refund in the original payment method.

Exchanges for products purchased online at decathlon.ca must be processed in-person at a Decathlon Canada store.

If your item was damaged during delivery, please contact our Customer Service team at: onlineservice@decathlon.ca.

 

For in-store purchases

In-store purchases may be returned/exchanged, free of charge, at any Decathlon store in Canada. For your return to be accepted, it must comply with the conditions of this Return Policy.

If your purchase is not registered on your Decathlon Member account, please make sure to bring your purchase receipt with you.

 

I purchased my products online, can I exchange them by mail?

No, only returns may be processed by mail. Exchanges may not be processed by mail. 

 

How do I return a product by mail? (decathlon.ca home-delivered products only)

If your order has an order reference number (6 digits following "CAN") and you would like to return an item by mail, you may request a return shipping label through our Returns Center.

Once your request has been validated by our Customer Service team, you will receive a shipping label and instructions for how to send the product back to Decathlon.

A return that does not respect this policy may, at our discretion, be sent back to the original shipping address at the sender’s expense. Decathlon assumes no responsibility for damages caused to a product during transit.

What are the fees for returning a product by mail?

A fixed return fee of $8 (plus tax) will be deducted from the eligible refund amount.

For oversized return items (all items larger than 100 cm/39.37 inches or weighing over 30 kg/66 lbs), a fixed return fee of $18 (plus tax) will be deducted from the eligible refund amount.

 

Can I return a product through a courier company of my choice?

Yes! To do so, please submit a request through our Returns Center.

When submitting the request, please choose the option "Carrier of my choice", then follow the steps on the screen.

Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by our team. Please wait to receive confirmation that your return request has been accepted before sending your package.

Once you have received the confirmation, you may pack your items and ship them to Decathlon.

You may use the original packaging or any other box that protects your package.

Please do not forget to indicate the number of your original order with your package.

You may then deposit your package with the carrier of your choice.

Please note that Decathlon will not offer reimbursement for the shipping costs. Returns that do not respect our Return Policy may, at our discretion, be sent back to the original shipping address at your expense.

 

How does Decathlon handle returns sent by mail?

Once your return package has been received, Decathlon inspects the condition of your item. If the item meets the conditions of the Return Policy, the eligible refund amount will be credited to the original payment method, with deductions for any applicable fees.

If you return an item for a refund, you will also receive a refund for any taxes paid for that item.

You will not receive a refund for any shipping/handling charges or sales taxes paid on such charges. Shipping/handling charges are non-refundable once the product has been shipped.

 

How can I track my mail return?

With the return label provided by Decathlon:

You can track your return directly on Decathlon’s carrier's website using the tracking number provided on the label.

If the carrier status indicates:

  • "Item processed" or “in transit”, your return is still on its way to our warehouse.
  • "Delivered to your concierge or your property manager" confirms the reception of your package at the Decathlon warehouse.

  

When returning an order with the carrier of your choice:

We recommend that you track your package on the site of the chosen carrier or contact the carrier for more information. Unfortunately, we cannot assist you with this type of information if you choose to use your own carrier.

  

Once your package has been received at our warehouse, it may take up to 15 days for the return to be processed by Decathlon. Once the return has been processed, you will receive email notification of the refund for your return.

If it has been more than 15 days since your package was received at our warehouse and you have not yet received an email notification of the refund, please contact us at: onlineservice@decathlon.com.

 

How do I cancel my mail return request?

Please contact our Customer Service team with your order number and indicate that you would like to cancel your return request. Once our team has processed your request, we will send you an email confirming that your return has been cancelled.

Unfortunately, if you have already mailed your item(s) for return, we cannot cancel the return request. If you chose to ship with your own courier, please check their policy and, if applicable, notify us of the return cancellation at: onlineservice@decathlon.com.

 

Why can I not return an in-store or Click & Collect purchase by mail?

We apologize for any inconvenience but, unfortunately, we cannot process such returns by mail. All orders returned by mail are sent to our warehouse. In order to properly process the return, the items must be linked to an order that originated from the warehouse and, thus, displays a specific code.

In-store and Click & Collect orders originate from a specific store and, therefore, cannot be returned to the warehouse.

 

Does Decathlon issue a reimbursement or a gift card for a returned item?

Decathlon will issue a refund in the original payment method, with deductions for any applicable return costs.

If your purchase was processed by credit or debit, depending on your financial institution, the refund process may take up to 10 business days following issuance. Rest assured that the refund will be initiated within 1 business day after the returned item has been successfully processed at Decathlon.

If your purchase was made using a gift card, you will receive a new gift card for the value of the refund amount.

If your purchase was made using a coupon, you will receive a gift card for the amount of the original purchase (not for the full-price value of the returned items).

 

I bought a Decathlon product in a country other than Canada, can I return the item here?

In some cases, Decathlon may accept the return of an item that was purchased in a Decathlon store located outside of Canada. The item must be currently sold in Canada and must comply with the conditions of this Return Policy.

To find out if the product purchased abroad is currently sold in Canada, please contact our Customer Service team— they will be happy to assist you.

 

I purchased my product in your Second Hand department, can I still return/exchange it?

Yes! This Return Policy applies to all of our products. We understand that Second Hand products are often not sold in the same condition as new products and we will take this into consideration when assessing your product’s eligibility for return/exchange.
