Right after buying them I ditched the laces and replaced them with elastic quick tightening laces to they can just be slipped on and off quickly. I've been using these shoes for commuting, adventure cycling, and day to day errands for the past 5 years... the SAME pair of shoes. They look a little beat up, but honestly considering the thousands of miles I've used them for it's really incredible how well they've held up. I'm amazed they're still sold at such a low price-they were 25 pounds back in 2013.
I bought these shoes in August 2017 and I have been using them to commute to work (11 miles a day) for 2 years and I am very happy with them. I'd agree with other reviewers that they are a bit fiddly if you want to fit SPD cleats (as I did) as you have to cut off the rubber sole covering the cleats but this isn't that hard. Since then, they've been great. I like the combination of lace and velcro to close as this allows you to get them fitted comfortably. I'd used Shimano shoes previously and in my experience these have given up before the 2 year point either due to the velcro wearing out and not fastening any more or the sole wearing out. I've had neither problem with these shoes. The one is I have had is the sole around the cleats has now cracked but I am still able to use the shoes, they just appear a bit more flexible. I would definitely recommend these for anyone looking for a competitively priced set of commuting shoes.
Never let you down that's dicathalon
Purchased these as they looked stylish and fitted well.cut the sole and fitted the cleats.
Well worth the money
First experience with clipless shoes, normally ride mtb flat but have entered a triathlon so got a road bike, these seem good strong shoes, was a bit daunting when I realised you have to cut out the rubber on the bottom of the shoe but it’s fine with a sharp Stanley knife , got size 8 and fit well, overall seem good value for money
Good cycling shoes...I read the reviews before buying and many were complaining about cutting the soles to fit the cleats...it was really easy! Not sure why people were anxious or scared to do it? Just have to take a Stanley knife to the lines...and then it will prize apart from the main sole. SPD Cleats went in fine, all I would say is, maybe get some better in-soles - more padding for the cleat area.
Reasonably priced although not the best for comfort.
