Decathlon Warranty Policy

Decathlon guarantees the quality of its products when purchased in Canada and offers a limited Warranty Policy on most of its products.

How long does the Warranty Policy last?

Each warranty is valid for the number of years indicated in the “Overview” section of the detailed product page on the website or on the in-store markings, starting from the date of purchase. Please ensure that you retain the proof of purchase as this will be necessary in order to exercise your warranty rights. This Warranty Policy gives you specific legal rights. It does not, in any way, affect the rights given to you by law if no warranty is mentioned in the “Overview” section of the product page on the website.

What does the commercial warranty cover?

This commercial Warranty Policy only applies to products manufactured by or for Decathlon that can be identified by the Decathlon trademark or logo affixed to them. This Warranty Policy covers defects in materials and workmanship for the specified duration of the warranty. Only original, unaltered, and unmodified products are covered by this Warranty Policy. This Warranty Policy does not cover damage or defect caused by normal wear and tear, improper care, misuse, accident, neglect, the natural breakdown of materials over time or modification of a product without Decathlon’s permission.

Where can I obtain warranty services?

To be eligible for service under this Warranty Policy, you must, according to your situation, provide: (i) A proof of purchase for a store purchase. Warranty claims for products purchased in-store can be opened at the Decathlon workshop of your choice. (ii) The order number, starting with "CAN", "2856" or "5000", for an online order. A warranty claim for products purchased on decathlon.ca can either be opened (a) with our customer service experts or (b) directly in-store at a Decathlon workshop. If the product is no longer displayed on decathlon.ca, please contact our customer experience specialists or our in-store technicians.

How to open a warranty claim for an online purchase?

If you detect a defect in your Decathlon product during the applicable warranty period, please submit a technical assistance request to have your warranty claim processed.

Our customer service team will send a notification within 48 hours of your warranty claim submission to confirm that your request is being handled by our after-sales service experts.

What happens after I have opened my warranty claim for my online purchase?

Within 10 days following your warranty claim submission, our after-sales service experts will verify the information and will either (i) contact you for additional details or (ii) issue a report indicating the diagnosis and whether or not the product defects are covered by the Warranty Policy.

In certain situations where it is impossible for our after-sales service experts to evaluate the defect in a photo or a video, our customer service team will provide you with instructions on how to either (i) bring your product to the Decathlon store nearest you or (ii) ship your product to our a designated location.

Please note: Products must be cleaned prior to shipping. Received items that are deemed to be insufficiently cleaned will be returned to the customer and the claim will remain unprocessed.

Note that customers who cannot drop their product in-store are responsible for any costs associated with the return, however Decathlon will assume the cost of reshipment.

Our customer service team will provide you with instructions on how to ship your product to a designated location.

You are responsible for your product until we acknowledge receipt of your package.

What solution does Decathlon offer in the case of product defects?

Decathlon will decide, at its sole discretion, whether or not your request is covered by this Warranty Policy. If the request is covered, Decathlon may then either, at its sole discretion, choose to:

(i) Provide remote repair solutions; (ii) Repair the defective product upon its return, at the client’s cost, to our designated location; or (iii) Issue a credit for the defective product upon its return, at the client’s cost, to our designated location; or (iv) Reimburse the client for the cost of the defective product upon its return, at the client’s cost, to our designated location.

How soon will my product be returned to me, or be usable again?

Our goal is to get your product back to you as quickly as possible so that you can continue with your sports activities.

Our usual lead time is between 4 to 6 weeks from the time our technicians start your repair.

How much will repairs cost?

No charges apply to repairs that are covered by the Warranty Policy. If the defect is not covered by our Warranty Policy, Decathlon can offer you a quote for the repair of your product.

Will modifying or altering my Decathlon product make the Warranty Policy void?

The Warranty Policy does not apply to modified, retouched or customized products when these modifications were not approved by Decathlon. Please note that you should never remove the fabric tags that are inside the garments or the serial numbers of certain products, as this will make the Warranty Policy void.

THIS WARRANTY AND THE REMEDIES SET FORTH IN THIS DOCUMENT ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, REMEDIES, AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER WRITTEN OR ORAL, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. DECATHLON SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. The Warranty Policy gives you specific legal rights and you may have other legal rights depending on the province in which you reside. Because some provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties, some of the above exclusions or limitations may not apply to you. In such provinces, Decathlon's warranty is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

Limitation of liability

DECATHLON’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY PURSUANT TO THIS WARRANTY POLICY, OR ANY OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY, IS LIMITED TO THE PURCHASE PRICE YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU IN WHOLE OR IN PART.

Governing law and venue

To the full extent permitted under applicable local law, this Warranty Policy and any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Warranty Policy (“Disputes”) shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, excluding conflicts of law principles and excluding the Convention for the International Sale of Goods. The courts located in Quebec shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any Disputes.

Severability

If any provision of this Warranty Policy is unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect any remaining provisions. If there is any inconsistency between the French and other versions of this Warranty Policy, the French version shall prevail.
