We conduct laboratory tests to validate the components: fabrics, buckles, straps, foam padding, zippers, etc. For example, for a fabric: resistance to abrasion & tearing, colour fastness in UV light, resistance to washing, waterproofing, etc. Then a test is conducted on the finished product replicating forces on the backpack over a number of years to check the strength of assemblies: the backpack is weighted and placed on a dummy that reproduces fast walking movements over 1000s of cycles
The warranty covers any defects to the backpack, excluding those resulting from normal wear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty will only be granted upon presentation of the receipt and the product. If the product is covered by warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged, free of charge. This sales warranty does not affect the statutory rights applicable in your country/state.
Quechua has conducted tests to simulate the aging of its backpacks. These tests are conducted on the components, seams, and finished product. Quechua and Decathlon use the results to guarantee the bags tested for a period of 10 years, starting from the date of purchase indicated on the receipt.
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifespan, using various indicators. An overall score is assigned from A to E to help easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to displaying environmental information about its products. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
