        TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

        Waterproofing

        Built-in rain cover.

        Laboratory Testing

We carry out laboratory tests to validate all component parts: fabric, buckles, straps, foam, and zippers. For example, for fabric: resistance to wear, tearing, colour fastness under UV rays, washing, waterproofing. A final test on the finished product simulates the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assembly: the backpack is weighted then placed on a dummy, which then reproduces the movement of fast walking over thousands of cycles.

        10-year warranty, technical partnership

The heavy stitching research and development department, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating backpack aging. The tests focused on components, seams and the end product. As a result of these tests, Quechua can guarantee all bags tested for a duration of 10 years from the date of purchase indicated on the sales receipt.

        10-year guarantee, conditions

The guarantee covers any backpack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year guarantee will only be granted upon presentation of the product and sales receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged for free. This commercial guarantee does not affect any statutory guarantees that are applicable in the country of purchase.

        How is backpack volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.

How do you adjust your backpack?

1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, hip belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - For backpacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, place the hip belt correctly (it should sit over the pelvis) and tighten it. For smaller backpacks, the belt should be placed around the waist. 4 -Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.

How do you pack a backpack?

Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear near the back. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece sweater close at hand. Place small items for daily use (sunscreen, map, glasses, etc.) in the pockets. Put the water bladder in the compartment designed for it.

        Environmental measures

Decathlon and Quechua have chosen to inform you of the environmental impact of their hiking backpack products over their entire life cycle. This work resulted from an experiment completed in July 2011 alongside the French Ministry of Ecology. Scores ranging from A to E were awarded based on comparisons between Quechua's backpacks only. Details on this project and the calculation methods used are available at http://www.oxylane.com/20/demarche-environnementale

        Battle tested in the Himalayas
Adam (United Kingdom) Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I took this backpack on the Annapurna Sanctuary trail in The Himalayas. The trek was 9 days in total and I wore the backpack between 3 and 7 hours per day. It is extremely comfortable, especially when worn high up my back.

I used a water bladder which is easily accesible. The side buckles made it easy to access my waterproof jacket and I kept a spare water bottle in the back outside pocket.

The side pockets in the waistband were very useful for suntan lotion, handwash and my phone.

The best aspect of this rucksack is that you can unzip it for easy access to everything inside.

I would highly recommend this rucksack, for day treks where you don't need to carry a lot of gear, it easily holds about 12-15 kilos and it is very comfortable.

        Another outstanding Decathalon product.

It a great small backpack. It's for walking, not great if you want to carrot a lot, but fantastic if you want waterproofs, food, drink, etc.
        Excellent

My wife and I had our honeymoon hiking in the Tatra mountains and bought two of these to try them out. Liked the smaller size, good weight, strong structure and great price. They were perfect. They couldn't have been better. And a ten year warranty!!

I bought this to replace a rucksack that is now showing its age after a few years of abuse. This has all the features that I need, large main compartment, side mesh pockets, pole clips, waist pockets and a full rig harness. The main compartment has the conventional drawstring top but also has a nearly full-length top and tail zip on one side to facilitate easy access. A rigid frame and a mesh back make this bag much more comfortable to use on long hikes and also enable a much easier initial fit. The only minus, the hydration bladder is housed in a sleeve at the back of the main compartment rather than its own dedicated compartment as some of my previous bags. The feed pipe also leaves the bag through an opening on the right side of the main compartment rather than the top/middle which restricts your choice of layout but other than that I can't fault it so far.
