TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Our environmental approach

Dyeing textiles requires a lot of water and discharges wastewater into the environment.
To reduce this impact, we use the following two dyeing processes:
1. We don’t colour the interior fabric.
2. We dye in bulk by adding the colour pigments as soon as the yarn is manufactured for the outer fabric.

How is volume measured?

A standard method is used to measure the volume of each backpack: We fill the main compartment and all the pockets with small balls. These balls are then emptied into a graduated container to measure their volume in litres.

How to adjust your backpack

1 – Loosen all straps
2 – Put the backpack on
3 – Tighten the shoulder straps
4 – Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed

How to pack your backpack

Put heavy items at the bottom. Pack clothing around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece in an easy-to-access location. Place small frequently used items in the pockets (sunscreen, map, glasses, etc.). Place your water bottles in the side pockets.

Tested for optimum durability and strength

The components of this backpack validated in the lab: fabric, buckles, straps, foam, and zippers. For example, we test the fabric’s resistance to abrasion and tearing, colourfastness when subjected to UV light and washing, and waterproofing. The resistance of its construction is tested with a dummy that reproduces a hiker’s movements to replicate several years of wear and tear.

I bought this for my hiking trips and really like it. In fall and spring it was great to be able to shove my layers in there as I warmed up. Fits all my snacks, first aid kit, etc. Water bottles and hiking poles on the side. I like the front zippered section for easy access to items. Very durable and nice colour. Straps are comfortable.

I bought this for my husband because he commutes to work on the bus/subway and needs to be able to carry his food and water comfortably. The bag is a good size though a little smaller than we thought it would be based on pictures. The pockets inside are good. The straps are well padded. The colour is nice. Hopefully it lasts.

We were looking for a backpack in so many different stores, in terms of the overall functionality, price and value, no one can beats Decathlon.

Most of the backpacks at this price range or more expensive ones, would not have the clips thing on the strap and around waist, which was one of the important criteria for us.

Also, the cushion support for back and on the strap are great, which again you usually see only thin uncomfortable straps for backpack at this price range elsewhere.

And I love that if you buy it from the store, there are some weights available for you to put inside the backpack, so you can try the backpack on with some weights. Very creative and thoughtful as always.

i bought a simond version that's similar but fits perfectly. this one rises above my shoulders if i do the hip strap in the right place, or else the hip and chest straps are very low. in fact, the chest strap is too low even at the highest position. this is shown on a woman, but i can now see her hip strap is loose and low. this might fit someone with a very long body.
