How is volume measured?
We use a standardized method to measure the volume of each backpack: the main compartment and each pocket are filled with little balls. These balls are then emptied into a graduated container to get the equivalent volume in litres.
How do I adjust my backpack?
1 - Loosen all straps (straps, belt, load adjuster straps)
2 - Put the backpack on
3 - Tighten the shoulder straps
4 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed
How to pack my backpack
Place heavy gear at the bottom. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece close at hand. Store small gear used during the day in the pockets (sunscreen, map, sunglasses, etc.).
We conduct several lab tests to validate the bag's components: fabric, buckles, straps, foam, zippers. For example, for a fabric, we test resistance to abrasion and tearing, colour fastness when subject to UV light and washing, and waterproofing. We also conduct tests to check the strength of assemblies by accelerating the wear and tear a bag would experience over the years on a dummy that reproduces the movements of a hiker.
Your opinion matters!
Your feedback helped us improve the design of the NH100 10 L backpack.
On this new model, a double zipper was added to the main compartment and a larger pocket bottom to the outside pocket. The aim was to keep your belongings secure when you open the backpack.
And of course, the price hasn't increased!
A score for comparing products' environmental impacts
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifespan using various indicators. A rating from A to E easily identifies products with the best environmental performance by comparing and contrasting products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks). Decathlon actively promotes this environmental rating initiative.
