The body produces heat during exercise, and this heat is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of the outfit. If the clothing is unfit for this purpose, the body will cool down and the blood flow to the hands will drop in order to keep the central core warm. The gloves and clothing should therefore be suited to the physical activity so as to keep your hands comfortable.
If you're not sure, it's always better to select a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big rather than too small.
Recommended temperature rating = 1°C
The ambient temperature at which all the testers claimed that they felt comfortable.
This is 1°C for Forclaz 100 gloves.
Limit temperature rating = -4°C
Corresponds to the ambient temperature that 90% of testers considered acceptable.
This is -4°C for the Forclaz 100 gloves.
How is the temperature rating measured?
All our gloves are laboratory tested using a thermal hand to determine the level of warmth as well as the minimum temperature ratings.
The temperature ratings (normal and limit) are based on a study carried out on a panel of 23 testers in walking situations exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and a 10 km/h wind. These temperatures are only valid in walking situations.
Dexterity of the glove
The dexterity of a glove is its ability to manipulate objects. Our gloves have been scored in the laboratory on a scale of 1 to 5. The closer the glove's dexterity rating gets to 5, the more the glove can handle objects like a bare hand. In particular, we tested how easy it is to get a jacket on and open it with the gloves.
Got these gloves for a great price and they are very nice and warm. They run a little on the large side---I measured my hand as per their size chart and they are still a size too big but no point in sending them back b/c of what I paid for them. But I suggest ordering down 1 size.

Brought this feeling the material instores to wear in Canada. Wore this gloves at temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees celsius and I could feel my fingers freezing through it. Very pathetic quality. The build is good but the intended purpose is not suitable. Dont know why its called Mountain Fleece. I mean fleece is supposed to retain some heat. But this item does not whatso ever you wish it to do. Do not buy if its for heat resistance. Wanna plough field, then go for it.
