Protection from the wind and snow
Insulating gloves developed specifically for very cold conditions.
Our outer gloves have very durable arctic fabric that makes these gloves waterproof to the wind and dampness. The design also integrates taped seams.
Thanks to the main seams, which are taped, and waterproof stitching, there is a better balance of protection from the wind and dampness and guaranteeing breathability and better management of moisture
All our gloves are laboratory tested using a thermal hand to determine the level of warmth as well as the minimum usage temperatures. These temperatures are only valid in walking situations.
In damp arctic conditions, down insulation is not recommended by our polar guides from the agency 66° Nord (as damp feathers stick to each other, reducing the warmth of the gloves).
We have chosen an insulating lining with very fine 100% polyester fibres, with very high insulating properties. The material also dries quickly.
The expected level of warmth will be guaranteed thanks to waterproofing and insulation
Ease of use
All tightening systems and drawstrings are oversized – easy to handle even with thick winter gloves in the other hand.
You understand that each detail that can improve manipulation has been carefully added to enable great ease of use.
This pair of gloves was designed for Arctic conditions with a good fit that is not too snug, so that a pocket of air remains around the fingers. If you are highly sensitive to the cold, take one size up as long as it does not affect your ability to grasp objects too much.
Dexterity, Protection, and Resistance
The preformed design for the hands and fingers allows for a precise grip on sticks, pulk harnesses, picks, or rope.
The palm is made from leather with leather linings for more strength when using sticks, pulk harnesses, picks, or rope.
When handling items in a shelter, the leather also allows for greater protection than a 100% synthetic glove, very sensitive to the heat (cooking, etc.)
The body produces heat during exercise, and this heat is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of the outfit. If the clothing is unfit for this purpose, the body will cool down and the blood flow to the hands will drop in order to keep the central core warm. The gloves and clothing should therefore be suitable for their use to keep hands comfortable.
If you're not sure, it's always best to select a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big rather than too small.
