TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

The right outfit

When physically active, the body produces heat. The outfit’s thermal insulation preserves body heat. If your clothing is unsuitable, the body will get colder and blood flow to the hands will drop in order to retain heat in the central core. Gloves and clothing must be suitable to keep hands comfortable.
If you're unsure about the size, it's always better to opt for a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big than too small.

Warmth

This liner glove, worn under a hiking glove, provides you with an additional 3°C of warmth.
This corresponds to the ambient temperature at which 100% of testers felt comfortable.
For better protection, we recommend that you wear gloves over the liner glove.

How is the temperature rating measured?

All our gloves are lab-tested using a thermal hand to determine their level of insulation and minimum temperature rating. The temperature ratings (normal and limit) come from a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and 10 km/h winds. These temperatures are only valid when walking.

Glove dexterity

The dexterity of a glove is its ability to manipulate objects. Our gloves have been scored in the laboratory on a scale of 1 to 5. The closer the dexterity rating is to 5, the more you can handle things with the gloves as if they were off. In particular, we tested how easy it is to get a jacket on and open it.

Origin of the wool

We only use wool from Merino sheep raised on farms in South Africa that do not practise mulesing.

We decided to build a partnership with a group of breeders (Konsortium Merino) to guarantee respect for animal welfare and the environment.
This means we have full traceability, allowing us to guarantee the wool’s origin.

Odour control

Wool from Merino sheep naturally controls the spread of odour-causing bacteria. It can therefore be worn
several days in a row so you can take fewer clothes when trekking.

How to wash your Merino wool liner gloves

We recommend that you machine wash your Merino wool liner gloves at 30°C on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent.

Dry flat. Never tumble dry.

Did your liner gloves get wet?

Did your liner gloves get wet? dry them in a dry place but avoid placing them on a heat source. This could damage the fibre and they could lose their shape.

Warning!

These gloves do not protect against the spread of viruses or microbes.

Nearly
Alice (United Kingdom) Used for 4 to 6 months
These are beautiful, light and thin.
They offer a light weight layer for use as a liner or on it's own.

At first, I though the addition of hte 'grip' mesh on the index finger and little finger edges of the hand were unnecessary. However, within 6 months (July to Christmas) of light wear, it is peeling off and I worry that it will damage the glove underneath.

I expect better than 6months use out of Decathlon products, this is dissapointing.
Great product at a realistic price
Gary (United Kingdom) Used for 3 to 8 weeks
Have several pairs of under gloves and these are top notch.

Nice lightweight gloves for cold, but not very cold weather. Work well as liners too.
Good liner gloves
JOHNATHAN (United States)
Only real complaint is a bit of roughness on the inseams at the base of the fingers. These are excellent for use standalone for relatively mild weather conditions where you are simply out and about or running and serve as an excellent base layer paired with an overglove or mitten for more extreme weather.
Cold synthetic
Grigory (United Kingdom) Used for 2 week or less
Looks beautiful, but non pleasant synthetic feeling for skin and it’s not warm at all, not suitable for temperature below +5

Good but would like an associated overglove so they can act a liners. I use them on their own and in very cold weather they are not adequate on their own .
Merino gloves : super soft and comfy :)

I simply love the merino products by Decathlon! Good quality-price
Meh...
Eric (United States)
They are cheap, they are wool and they are a decent glove liner. I got these to wear under some waterproof gloves to help if my hands got clammy. I also wanted the tech touch for when I took my older, but warmer gloves off to use my phone. The only problem I really had was that the index finger touch tech piece kept twisting around and I had to realign it constantly. I think they is an issue with the stitching or design... It’s pretty annoying. The price is great, but I think I’ll try something else in the future.
