How will this parka keep my child warm?
It has a double filling of ball fibre wadding, a good alternative to feather down:
- like feathers, it is composed of multiple fibres that trap air, providing insulation from the cold
- it offers good thermal insulation, even when wet
- it is easy to maintain: machine washable and can be tumble dried
How does my jacket protect me from outdoor conditions?
Your jacket has a waterproof material that keeps out water and wind. To stay warm in winter, you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The warm, waterproof, attached hood with fur, the ribbing at the cuffs, the high collar, and the central zipper with windproof protection tabs prevent the cold from getting in. This jacket has four pockets, including two soft and warm ones to protect your hands from the cold.
How to dress properly for cold-weather hiking
Whatever your cold-weather activity, use the three-layer principle:
Layer 1: A high-tech base layer to wick moisture away from the body and keep your skin dry.
Layer 2: A fleece or sweater to provide warmth and transfer moisture outwards.
Layer 3: A jacket to protect against the elements (rain, snow, and wind).
To eliminate moisture, the whole outfit must be breathable.
How can I be sure that my jacket is 100% waterproof?
This parka has a waterproof material that keeps out water and wind.
To stay warm in winter, you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The warm hood, fastenings at the cuffs, and high collar keep the cold out. Two pockets protect small hands from the cold.
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have waterproof seams?
Your jacket is waterproof because of the fully taped seams. The inside seams are also sealed with waterproof tape to make them watertight and prevent water from seeping into more vulnerable areas.
The waterproofing is verified by conducting a test that replicates the conditions of a two-hour rain shower. The jacket was also field-tested in all weather conditions to make sure it’s suitable for your activities.
Windproof:
A coating or membrane is applied inside to make the fabric water- and windproof. Technically, a waterproof fabric qualifies as windproof. Wind protection is very important due to the significant chilling effect wind can have on the body.
How to preserve the technical qualities of the jacket
Water repellency is a fabric’s capacity to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. The garment should be retreated over its lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products for this purpose (spray or liquid) are available in our stores.
Will my jacket withstand long-term regular use?
We test for durability: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colourfastness, and resistance to repeated washing. All these tests have been carried out on the parka material.
How does my product warranty work?
