TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Component waterproofing

We measure a fabric’s resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2,000 mm can resist the pressure from 2,000 mm of water (equivalent to a 2-hour rain shower). Waterproofing is expressed in Schmerber units (for example: 2,000 Schmerbers).

Windproof effect

A coating applied to the fabric makes it waterproof and windproof. Technically, a waterproof fabric is also windproof. Protection from the wind is critical as wind can really chill the body during physical activity.

Component breathability

Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET).
This allows perspiration to escape during physical activity and prevents it from accumulating on the skin.
The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.
RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: little breathability

Our product has a 12 RET rating.

Component durability

Resistance to wear and abrasion test: for example, we test our fabrics in the lab to ensure they do not pill. Colourfastness test: we check colourfastness to ensure colours don’t bleed. Aging test: we make sure repeated washing does not alter the fabric’s properties, performance, thickness, or appearance.

Care

1/ Machine wash (30°C): fasten hook-and-loop tabs and use mild detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2/ Avoid bunching the garment in the washing machine, as this can damage it. 3/ Do not mix garment types and colours. 4/ Do not use bleach. 5/ Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. 6/ Drying option: Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle).
