Hydrophilic coating (RET=12): reduces condensation. Two ventilation zippers
Ripstop component to withstand abrasion. 2-year warranty.
A fabric's resistance is measured using water pressure expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (test based on ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 5000 mm is therefore able to withstand the pressure exerted by 5000 mm of water (the rough equivalent of a 5-hour rain shower). Waterproof rating is expressed in Schmerber units (for example: 5000 Schmerber).
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance, or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric / 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = little or no breathability.
Resistance to wear test: for example, we carry out lab tests to check that fleeces do not pill. Colour fastness test: we check colour fastness to ensure colours don't bleed if they come into contact with saliva. Ageing test: repeated washing must not alter the fabric's original properties, including its shape, thickness, or appearance.
The fabric is rendered waterproof, and therefore windproof, by applying a coating to the inner surface. In fact, the properties of a waterproof fabric mean that it can also be certified as windproof. It's very important to protect yourself from the wind, when moving or stationary, because of the wind's powerful chilling effect.
Cuff adjustment with velcro straps. Extra length at back to protect your bottom when sitting down. 2 ventilation zippers at the front. Media pocket with a slot for headphones.
Product environmental impact comparison score
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifespan using various indicators. An overall score from A to E helps you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). 1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): close velcro fastenings, gentle detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2/ Avoid folding the garment excessively in the machine: this can damage it. 3/ Do not mix different types of clothes or colours. 4/ Do not use bleach. 5/ Rinse thoroughly followed by a gentle spin cycle. 6/ Drying option: Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle).
