To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its total evaporative resistance (RET) based on the ISO 11092 standard. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more sweat generated by physical activity can escape-the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 20 = little or no breathability.
Fleece component: insulates with air
The fleece component is designed to trap air in the space formed by its texture; this air acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm. The brushing of the knit fabric traps the air.
This component has been laboratory-tested for a comfort temperature from 10 to 13°C without a jacket.
Our products' environmental impact
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An ABCDE rating shows the environmental impact of a product. Put forward by ADEME, it takes into account production, transportation, usage, and waste generated at the end of a product’s life.
Decathlon displays this information voluntarily to help you identify products with lower environmental impact. Learn more at http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
Guaranteed lifespan of two years
Our hiking fleeces’ ageing is tested to guarantee their durability. Guaranteed:
- resistance to wear from backpacks and moving arms to delay the appearance of piling, specific to this material
- the solidity of seams
- the resistance of the fleece material after 3 washes (size stability)
- retains colour after washing, UV exposure, or perspiration.
