Cut

This fleece jacket has a fitted but comfortable cut. Wear a high-tech base layer with direct skin contact underneath for superior protection from the cold. It was designed to be worn directly under our windproof/waterproof jackets.

Our commitment to eco-design

At Decathlon, we know that our production and distribution activities have a big environmental impact. That’s why we must take action. Not everything is perfect but, by using recycled polyester to make this fleece jacket, no new oil-based resources are used. Waste is transformed into resources that can be reused. We are also working on other measures to further reduce our carbon footprint.

How does the material insulate against the cold?

The volume created by the texture of the fleece (called “brushed” when made of loops) is intended to trap air; this air acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm.

How is warmth measured?

Two types of tests measure warmth:
- a test of the fabric
- tests on a thermal mannequin in a thermal chamber. We reproduce the temperature, wind (5 km/h), and humidity conditions encountered in the mountains during a 5 km/h hike.
These tests help us validate our design choices before field testing.
This fleece jacket has a temperature rating of 7 to 10°C (without a jacket on top).

How is durability tested?

To guarantee their durability, our hiking fleeces are subjected to ageing tests. We guarantee:
- resistance to abrasion and arm movements to prevent pilling
- seam strength
- durability after washing
- colour fastness after washing and exposure to UV light and perspiration
