Top handle fell off - not built to last

The top handle is not attached very securely to the lid. I had the bottle for a year, and the handle fell off the lid. Tried to get a replacement lid and was told that I've misused the bottle. I even sent the picture to show that the attachment is not welded in. Anyway, th
e lid now has no handle and it is making it useless for my kids to use at school. Not built to last - wished they would even offer for me to buy a replacement lid. Now, it might have to go to the landfill.
