Touring Bike - Riverside 520

I've done about 1000 clicks on this bike and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. It does the same job as other brands that cost double as much, and I believe it is actually built stronger than some of the big names. I love the Tektro shifter and the hydraulic brakes. I

changed the saddle to a Brooks 17 , new pedals and a stem extension for a more comfortable position and now I feel I can go anywhere on this bike. I also loaded it with Ortlieb panniers front and back and she carries all the weight with no issue at all. A true long distance tourer, well done Decathlon!

I bought this bike for my first cycle tour in 2022, 1500km, UK to Grenoble. I added an adjustable handlebar stem, Brooks B17 saddle, centre stand, 32T narrow wide front chainring and Riverside front rack. The bike is fantastic and completed the journey, some of it on quite rou

gh gravel, without any problems. No adjustment, no faults. I just cleaned a little and lubricated the chain every 250km. I toured with 4 panniers + tent, 25kg of gear in total. What a fantastic experience. I'm presently at the end of my second tour on the bike, 3000km to Southern Spain. The bike has handled everything Spain could throw at it on some very rough trekking terrain. Easy to modify for the specific tour in mind. I am changing for 60-622 Algrounder tyres and Bluemels basic mudguards for a more off-road tour next time. It's also great for day to day use like doing the shopping. Fantastic value. An extremely strong, tough bike! I love it!
