Water-repellent outer fabric that doesn’t become saturated with water.
Adjustable waist (velcro). Belt loops.
Three secure pockets: Two hand pockets and one thigh pocket.
Which of the pants’ components provide warmth?
To help keep you warm, we used a recycled lining for insulation (60g/m²). This synthetic polyester-based lining traps air based on the size of the fibres to insulate you from the cold.
What’s a membrane and what’s it for?
The membrane is a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry.
How is the waterproofing of your pants measured?
We measure a fabric’s resistance to a column of water in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 8,000 mm is therefore resistant to the pressure exerted by a 8,000-mm column of water (roughly equivalent to a 2-hour downpour).
How can I be sure my pants will give me proper protection in bad weather?
These pants have been developed using a robust component and superior construction that limit wind chill and prevent water from entering to help you brave all weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To check their water-resistance, the pants were placed under a special shower reproducing the conditions faced by a skier. We checked the waterproofing of this product in use in various weather conditions over several days.
How does your pants' water-repellent feature work?
A fabric is water-repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. These pants feature water-repellent components to improve their resistance to bad weather. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface. However, this property may deteriorate with use.
How to restore the water repellency of your pants
Remember that water repellency can be restored. To do this, put the pants in the dryer on a synthetics cycle for 10 to 15 minutes.
You can also use a waterproofing spray (sold in our stores): spray evenly over the entire garment, then allow to dry for 10 to 12 hours.
What are “breathable” pants?
This garment is capable of wicking away the sweat produced by your body when exercising. To see if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat (RET) in a standardized ISO 11092 test. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. The 500 pants have an RET of 11. However, the technical solutions (zips, vents, mesh) Wedze uses are what limit the condensation inside the garment and maximize breathability.
How should I dress to avoid having cold legs on the slopes?
To keep your legs warm and dry, you need two layers: One base layer to wick away perspiration and one pair of ski pants to protect against the elements and provide warmth.
How can you stop snow from getting into your pants?
These pants have elastic gaiters at the ankles to cover your shoes. If you fall or come into contact with fresh snow, the seal created by the gaiter keeps the snow out.
What is the fit of the 500 pants?
They have a regular fit with an internal volume that allows them to be combined with a technical base layer.
