What type of padding is used for warmth?
Recycled padding helps keep you warm (100 g/m² on the arms and 150 g/m² on the body). This synthetic polyester-based padding traps air to insulate you from the cold.
What other components keep you warm, in addition to the fill?
In addition to the fill, partially taped seams and collar and cuff tightening keep out the cold and damp and keep you warm.
"Coated" jacket: what are the advantages of this coating?
The coating is a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of a fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows sweat to escape. So you stay dry and more comfortable during outdoor activities
How is the jacket’s waterproofness measured?
A fabric’s resistance to water pressure is expressed in terms of the height in mm of a water column that can be supported by the fabric. The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Waterproof material with a rating of 3,000 mm withstands the pressure exerted by a 3,000 mm column of water.
Which parts of the jacket protect me from bad weather?
The 100 jacket’s advanced materials and composition prevent water seepage and reduce wind chill to help you cope with the weather conditions (rain, snow, wind, etc.). We field-tested its waterproofing in various weather conditions for several days.
Why is my jacket water repellent?
Water repellency is a material’s ability to shed water without absorbing it. This jacket’s water-repellent features boost its weather resistance. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface. However, this property may deteriorate with use.
How to restore your jacket’s water repellency
Bear in mind that the water repellency can be reactivated. To do this, tumble-dry the jacket on a synthetics setting for 10 to 15 minutes.
You can also use a waterproofing spray (sold in our stores): spray the product evenly over the entire garment, then allow to dry for 10 to 12 hours.
What is a "breathable" jacket?
This jacket wicks away perspiration. To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its total evaporative resistance (RET) based on the ISO 11092 standard. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. The 100 jacket has an RET of 12. However, it’s the technical solutions (zippers, vents, mesh) Wed’ze uses that reduce condensation inside the garment and maximize breathability.
What is the fit of the 100 jacket?
Regular Fit Rather than hugging the chest, the sides of the jacket hang down straight and stay parallel. This jacket is roomy enough to be worn over a first and second technical layer.
How to dress to stay warm on the slopes
To stay warm and dry, use the “three technical layers” rule:
- Layer 1, a second skin, to stay dry.
- Layer 2, an insulating layer, to keep the heat in.
- Layer 3, a protective layer, to protect against bad weather.
Our products' environmental impact
Different indicators are used to calculate the product's environmental impact over its entire life cycle. An ABCDE rating shows the environmental impact of a product. Put forward by ADEME, it takes into account production, transportation, usage, and waste generated at the end of a product’s life.
Decathlon displays this information voluntarily to help you identify products with lower environmental impact.
