TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

How warm is this padded jacket?

This down jacket should be worn as a third layer and was certified for an active comfort temperature of -18°C during a standardized test in a thermal chamber.
The model was wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind.
We have also tested this model in static mode; the comfort temperature is -5°C in this case.

The advantages of duck down and feather filling

The fill power of down has three advantages for mountain sports:
- The air trapped in the down and feathers provides thermal insulation
- Ultra-low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack
- Ultra-compressible

Measuring the fill power of down and feather wadding

The fill power is a measure of the down’s thermal insulation capacity and potential to trap air. It is expressed in cu in (cubic inches).
Down with a higher fill power (higher cu in number) will occupy more space, trap more air, and provide greater thermal insulation.

For a down jacket with an 85/15 filling, such as this one, the fill power is guaranteed to be at least 660 cu in (European standard).

What is RDS certification?

The RDS or Responsible Down Standard is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organization to brands that choose to use it.
Our traceability system guarantees the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers commit to using only feathers from ducks raised for their meat and slaughtered before down and feathers are collected.

How to care for a down and feather jacket

The down jacket can be worn throughout the season and will require washing. How to care for your down jacket:
°

In short:
1/ Machine wash at 30°C with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle.
2/ Tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls and repeat 2 or 3 times until the jacket is completely dry.

Water repellency (not to be confused with waterproofing)

A fabric’s water repellency is its ability to make water run off its surface without being absorbed.
This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and warm.
The down jacket’s material is water-repellent. We recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over it in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.

The outer surface of the fabric is treated to make it water-repellent; however, this property may deteriorate with use.

We recommend restoring it after each wash.

Restoring water repellency

Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend using a water-repellent reactivation spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric

Reducing the risk of feather loss

The main seams of the down and feather compartments are heat-sealed to prevent feathers from escaping.

The jacket hit the right note for the beginning of July - entering mid-winter and those low teens degC. I'd purchased on line (and collected as 'contact-less pickup) but it proved to be too small and, as soon as lockdown was finished, I popped down to my local shop and exchanged it for the large size. That was better - proper arm length, stretch across the shoulders and plenty below the waist. No issue with changing. I've used it for outside in the air-type activities - walking, etc. it's simply too hot inside the jacket if you're inside the car or the mall. It will push down into a small plastic shopping bag for handling in the car, etc. Otherwise it's full-size and may get damaged if simply hanging around. Equally as good it came with 50% discount. warm and lightweight

I've never had a down coat before. this is my first. I'm really happy with it. I haven't used it hiking or camping yet, but I've warn it in some cold weather. Specifically waiting to pick up my kid at school. The other parents looked really cold. i was nice and warm.

My only down side (pun intended) is that when i sit in a chair in the cold, since the down gets compressed, my back is cold. there's no isupation when the insulation is flattened. i don't know if this is a common thing with down jackets, but it's an issue with this one. Makes me feel the need to use a pad on my back when I sit in a chair.
Amazing Product
Devesh Singh (India) Used for 4 to 6 months
Very light, compact, easy to pack.

I have used it till -10°C and it kepte absolutely warm. Ventilation zips at sides, makes it very practical to use while hiking or slightly warm temperatures.

It would have been better if compression bag was provided with this jacket, for extra protection inside bag and packing inside hood is not that space efficient. Rest it is awesome product.
Punches well above its weight

Would expect to pay 3-4 times as much for an equivalent jacket from a big name brand or cottage manufacturer. So happy with this purchase.

We bought these jackets on the recommendation of a Canadian outdoor person.
We have used them for over a month now during the previous colder weather in Mancheter.
The jackets are warm with a good fit and well made with excellent zips and reinforced wear areas.
They are exceptionally good for the price.
We also have jackets from Rab & Mountain Hardware to compare.
Worth a look

Perhaps not finished as well as other brands.
Will have to see what the longevity is.
But this jacket is warm as toast. Does everything I want it to do.
Very good
More Than Warm
aditya (India) Used for 3 to 8 weeks
You can feel cosy and warm in this jacket, what's new you'd ask. Well, the make of the jacket speak volumes about its quality and the warmth. You don't have to wear another warmer if you're wearing it. It's light and well made. You can get it especially for the elderly living in cold areas since they can wear it and move with ease as the weight of the jacket won't be felt by them, it is so light. The price is subjective though, you may see it a s an investment or plain extravagance. I see it as the former. You will love it right from the moment you start wearing it. The -18°C lower limit on temperature is more than sufficient for the jacket for most places in India, especially northern part of the country.

Keeps warm, but there should be detachable hood, rest is ok, but some how expensive
Amazing must have gear! (Warning at bottom)
Stephen (United Kingdom) Used for 2 week or less
Absolutely love this jacket . The hood adjustments don't use the normal toggle they sort of slot into the hood itself, that then holds them in place securely which is a great idea . Sat outside in light rain in -2 Celsius as was dry and toasty and walked home in slightly heavy rain with zero down clumping . It doesn't have rear head adjustments but the peak can be rolled up and it stays in place . Fantastic gear! Can't recommend this enough

Heads up tho . I put the jacket inside out in my drier with tennis balls (do this with all my down jackets on low heat low spin) because one arm of the down arrived clumpy . When i pulled it out the inside has melted i suspect because this is such a lightweight item. Absolutely gutted especially with having no money at the moment and only had it about a week . Just hope the melted part holds up because i can't afford to buy another .
