Additional recommended products

Care products: waterproof spray or wash-in waterproof liquid. To restore the water repellent property of the fabric and optimize the performance of your garment throughout its lifetime. We recommend using these products with each wash.

How the temperature rating is measured

Thermal neutrality temperature rating: the user feels neither hot nor cold. Temperature rating in accordance with the ISO 11079 standard, under the following conditions: Walking at 5 km/h without wind or sunshine. Jacket worn together with: upper body: shirt + long-sleeved shirt + down vest / lower body: tights + fleece base layer + pants / head: Ushanka + hood / hands: liner gloves + gloves / feet: ski socks + boots.

Component waterproofing

We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with a 2000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hours).

Waterproofing of the garment

Technologies: this garment has been validated in a shower test under 60 Litres of water/m²/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.

Component breathability

To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 < RET< 12 = very breathable fabric / 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = little or no breathability.

Water-repellent property of the component

The water-repellency of fabric is its ability to let water slide off its surface without being absorbed. This way, the fabric does not soak up water & therefore stays lightweight & warm. Fabric is made water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment (recommended with each wash). Water-repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have a water-repellent treatment.

Quantity of feathers for each size

Here is the quantity of feathers at the waist for the parka. This is equivalent to 90% of the theoretical weight.
XS = 405 g / S = 496 g / M = 514 g / L = 547 g / XL = 558 g / XXL = 605 g / XXXL = 640 g

Feather origin

Our traceability system means we can guarantee the origin of the feathers, in accordance with our commitment to use responsibly sourced materials. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering.

The advantages of duck down and feather filling*

The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking:
- Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers
- Ultra-lightweight: for an equivalent level of insulation, feathers are lighter than synthetic wadding. This saves even more weight in your backpack
- Ultra-compressible

Liked the jacket due to its finishing, durability and warmth. However my suggestion is to take L size if you are planning to buy XL.
Best Stuff Seen So Far
Ankit (India) Used for 2 week or less
I ordered it for myself with XL size but it turned out to be bigger. Reordered a smaller one waiting for that to arrive. I would recommend it because of the finishing and durability of product which seems to be long lasting.
Nice jacket, but colour not like in the photos
Chris (United Kingdom) Used for 2 week or less
Very warm and comfortable jacket, but it’s almost black in colour, and nothing like what you see in the photos. I can only see one other review making this same comment, and wonder if there is a new batch with darker colour?
Much darker grey than in the photos - almost black
Duncan (United Kingdom) Used for 2 week or less
The photos were possibly edited by someone who hadn't seen the product with their own eyes! When it says "Carbon Grey", think of the colour of the "lead" in a pencil. It really is near black.
very good product
Rishabh (India) Used for 3 to 8 weeks
It provides warmth in even-11C and at Rohtang pass It provides full warmth and so much warmth that i got sweating during -6 C

nihal (India) Used for More than 1 year
Superb go for it
Amazing Jacket. Keeps U Warm N Toasty.
ankur (India) Used for 4 to 6 months
Amazing jacket. Can make you sweat even in extreme cold. Used it in Swiss Alps, Jungfraujoch and rest of Europe during Dec-Jan where temperature was way below 0°C and this jacket kept me warm n toasty just with a base layer underneath.
Only drawback is that feathers keep leaking from jacket and stick to your mid/base layer which is a bit annoying.
Excellent Jacket
