Is my jacket warm enough for winter hikes?
This jacket was developed for extreme winter conditions: extreme cold, snow, blizzards. The insulation is made of thick padding, a synthetic component that effectively insulates due to the air it traps within its fibres (double layer on the body and single layer on the arms).
A long inner flap beneath the zipper blocks cold air. The tightening at the jacket hem ensures that your jacket is comfortable down to -20°.
How does my jacket protect me from outdoor conditions?
Waterproof material keeps out water and wind. To stay warm in winter, you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The anti-blizzard hood with removable synthetic fur, wrist cuffs, and stand-up collar all keep out the cold. The fleece-lined, high hand warmer pockets perfectly protect your hands in a comfortable position.
How can I be sure that my jacket is 100% waterproof?
Coating on the outer fabric makes this extreme cold jacket waterproof. The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with a 2000 mm rating can withstand the pressure from a 2000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours).
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have waterproof seams?
Taped main seams ensure that your jacket is waterproof. The inside seams are also sealed with waterproof tape, to make them watertight and prevent water seepage into more vulnerable areas.
We also checked the waterproofing with a specially designed shower test to reproduce conditions under a 2-hour rain shower. The jacket is also field-tested in all weather conditions to make sure that it’s suitable for your activities.

A comfortable, uniquely styled extreme cold jacket
This jacket’s comfortable fit is designed to be worn with a warm second layer like a fleece or light down jacket.
Its longline style is ideal for protecting you from the cold and wind during winter hikes in large hilly areas or in the mountains.
Will my jacket withstand long term regular use?
We test for durability: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colourfastness, resistance to repeated washing. All these tests have been conducted on the jacket’s material.
How to preserve the technical qualities of my jacket
Water repellency is a material’s ability to shed water without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water, so it stays lightweight, breathable and warm. A fabric is made water-repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment needs to be reapplied over the product’s lifetime (preferably with every wash). Products (spray or liquid) for this purpose are available in our stores.
How to dress properly for snow hiking
Whatever your cold-weather activity, use the three-layer principle:
Layer 1: A high-tech base layer to wick moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.
Layer 2: A fleece or sweater to provide warmth and transfer moisture outwards.
Layer 3: A jacket to protect against outdoor conditions: rain, snow, and wind.
To eliminate moisture, the whole outfit must be breathable.
How does my product warranty work?
This product is guaranteed for two years from the date shown on the sales receipt. A product covered by the warranty will be exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear or improper use.
A score for comparing products' environmental impacts
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An ABCDE rating shows the environmental impact of a product. Put forward by ADEME, it takes into account production, transportation, usage, and waste generated at the end of a product’s life. Decathlon displays this information voluntarily to help you identify products with lower environmental impact. Learn more at http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
