Main component

3-layer component with membrane

Membrane or coating

- A coating is like a paint applied to the inside of the fabric to make it waterproof while remaining breathable. It's often less expensive than a membrane and must be protected by a lining.
- A membrane is a very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the material waterproof while remaining breathable. It's more flexible, lighter, more durable, and often more breathable than a coating.

Jacket structure with a membrane

- 3 layers: The membrane is glued between the outer and inner fabric. Used for durable high-performance jackets
- 2.5 layers: The membrane is glued under the outer fabric and protected on the inside with a thin film. Used for lightweight jackets.
- 2 layers: the membrane is only glued to the outer fabric; the inner protective lining is separate. Used for comfortable jackets

Waterproof rating of the component

The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a 10,000 mm waterproof rating can withstand the pressure of a 10,000 mm column of water. This is also equivalent to 10,000 Schmerber.

Waterproof rating of the jacket

This garment was validated in a shower test under 100 L/m²/h of water for 3 h. This test reproduces average rain shower conditions in the mountains.
For more information, check out all the details at:

Component breathability

To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance, or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more moisture generated by physical activity is able to escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example:
RET ≤ 3 = extremely breathable fabric
RET ≤ 6= very breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12= breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20 = little or no breathability

Restoring water repellency

A fabric's water repellency is its ability to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. Water-repellency is obtained by applying a treatment to the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment needs to be reapplied throughout the garment's lifetime (we recommend every 3 washes).
All you need to know about restoring water repellency:

Our products' environmental impact

The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. An ABCDE rating shows the environmental impact of a product. Put forward by ADEME, it takes into account production, transportation, usage, and waste generated at the end of a product’s life. Great jacket

The grey is darker than the video suggests. More of a charcoal. Which is good imo. Good fit, but not very long in the body. Maybe 5cm overlap with trousers. Very smart and comfortable. I am 5' 10", 80kg and got a medium. Can fit a lightweight down jacket underneath.
Needs an outer flap over the zip.

Comfortable. Breathable. Everything it should be but it lacks an outer flap over the zip. First decent downpour I wore it in and I had some leakage after an hour.
Not Suitable For Byke Ride
Pavan (India) Used for 2 week or less
Not upto the mark , only for trekking and cool areas .
MH500 waterproof, mountain waking jacket
James (United Kingdom) Used for 4 to 6 months
I recently bought this to replace a jacket from a high end mountain brand that has worn out after a few years. The jacket is fantastic and at an unbelievable price for what you get.
Lots of little details like slightly longer sleeves, pit-zips, internal pockets, and a hood that actually fits when cinched down.
Taped seams are perfect and I have had no problems in torrential rain.
No seams on the should are a great addition if your carrying a rucksack.
I Highly recommended this jacket.
