TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Sole grip

Certified sole grip.
To be certified, the boots must pass lab tests to assess their grip rate on different surfaces (smooth, rough, dry, wet).
The soles are then tested in the field by a panel of child testers.

Waterproofing test

Tested both in the lab and in the field, the waterproofing and breathability of this footwear are guaranteed. To start, they are immersed in water with pressurized air inside to ensure that no bubbles form on the surface of the boot. Next, the boots are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half immersed in water to ensure that the inside remains perfectly dry.
For this model, the test lasted the equivalent of 8 km under the conditions mentioned above.

Making waterproofing last longer

A shoe’s waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, we recommend wearing waterproof gaiters or mini-gaiters that will keep out water along with pebbles, sand, etc. You should use a waterproofing spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents staining.

Which size should I choose?

For hiking, opt for one size larger for optimal comfort on the descent and to prevent toes from touching the tip of the shoe. Tip: keep your toenails short, and before going downhill, check that your laces are tight to prevent your feet from slipping forward inside the shoes.

Buying tips

Allow children to try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks they will wear for hiking. Try on several styles and sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Let them walk around the store. Break your shoes in gradually during your first few hiking trips.

Removable insole

Removable insole for faster drying. It can also be replaced with an orthopaedic insole.
