TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Sole grip

The sole’s design is thoroughly researched in the lab to offer the best balance of grip and traction. As no two requirements are ever the same, we automatically look for the best balance for walking on both wet and dry terrain.

3 levels of waterproofing

We test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2,000 flexes (about 2 hours of walking), 4,000 flexes (about 4 hours of walking), and 8,000 flexes (about 8 hours of walking). The kids’ MH120 MID boot is waterproof up to 4,000 flexes.

Making waterproofing last longer

A shoe's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, we recommend wearing waterproof gaiters or mini-gaiters that will keep out water along with pebbles, sand, etc. You should use a waterproofing spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents stains.

Buying tips

Get your child to try on both shoes, standing up, with hiking socks. Check the following two areas of comfort: the heel seating and the front of the foot on a downward slope. Avoid any pressure points when fitting. They should wear in the shoes gradually over a few hikes.
You can print out the online foot gauge and check your child’s foot length.

Which size should you choose?

For hiking, consider choosing one size up from your usual size to ensure optimal comfort when heading downhill and to prevent your toes from hitting the front of the shoes. Advice: keep your nails short and, before making your way downhill, check that your lacing prevents your feet from sliding towards the front of the shoes.

Field test

All of our shoes are tested for initial comfort and comfort during use by users who represent the target market and under the same conditions as you would encounter in use. Our Mission Tests bring the product manager together with people who are not affiliated with Quechua to test, develop, and approve the products.

Lab tests

Additional lab tests also check the following: secure attachment of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, resistance to UV rays, abrasion of the sole and upper components, accelerated ageing.

Good price for great product. This is our second pair and we are very satisfied x
Good shoe, but could use a slight improvement

A very good boot, sturdy and definitely waterproof, however my son has quite a large instep and the velcro doesn't quite go across the top of his foot properly ( even going up a size!) A longer velcro strap and this would be a perfect boot.
