TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

What lighting mode meets your needs?

Adapts to different situations:
High mode (300 lm) for long range. Low mode (120 lm) for prolonged battery life
Ambient mode (30 lm) for short-range, like when reading a map.
Flashing mode (300 lm) to draw attention in case of danger.
Finally, on high and eco mode, there is a reserve of 1 h lighting at 50 lm when the battery is fully drained.

Lumens, range, and lighting – how does it work?

A lumen, abbreviated to lm, measures the light emitted by an LED. Two lenses and four modes offers a choice between soft, high, and moderate light.
The OnNight 710’s wide beam effectively illuminates a few metres in front of you, with the option to project a 75 m beam in high mode.
Plus, due to its constant lighting feature, the intensity does not dip as the battery charge diminishes.

Using your battery

The OnNight 710 is designed for middle-distance trail running: It has a battery life of 3h in high mode, 6h in low mode and 12h in eco mode.
To avoid nasty surprises, check the weather conditions: when the temperature dips below zero, the life of lithium batteries also drops.

Monitor battery life and easily recharge your head lamp.

The head lamp’s charge indicator lights up when you turn it on: a practical feature for verifying battery life when preparing your trail running bag or just before starting out.
The battery is compatible with all micro-USB cables to make recharging easy. Plus, the cable provided is angled: that way, it's easier to plug your head lamp into a portable charger in your backpack during your trail run.

Designed for added comfort:

This head lamp is powerful and light: at only 120 g, it saves a lot of space. The weight is more evenly distributed between the rechargeable battery at the back of the head and the lighting block at the front, which reduces any pendulum effect.
Its adjustment wheel makes choosing your lighting mode easy, even while running.

How to optimize your battery’s life

Here’s some advice from our trail running engineer and project manager:
“While people tend to do the opposite, it is more effective to start running with the head lamp in low mode and to finish in high mode. At the start, when surrounded by other trail runners, there are other sources of light so you can stay in low mode or even switch off your head lamp. This will save power for the end of the run."

Keep and maintain your head lamp longer thanks to the warranty, after-sales service, and spare parts.

Decathlon products are guaranteed for two years.
Indeed, at Decathlon, we have a "satisfied or satisfied" policy: don't hesitate to return your head lamp back if it is defective.
What's more, Decathlon parts are available for two years after purchase at your local store’s workshop.

What is the IPX4 waterproof rating?

Your trail running head lamp complies with the IPX4 waterproofing classification.
In theory, this means that the head lamp can withstand water splashes (10 L per minute for five minutes).
In practice, this means that you don't need to hold back for fear of rain or splashes.
And to make sure of this, we put our prototypes in the shower for long periods of time.
