TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

OUTSOLE WITH GRIP

The grip on our soles is called Cross Contact®.
To be awarded this certification, boots must pass laboratory tests to assess their traction on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we assess the quality of our soles in the field and in the mountains over 500 km using a panel of representative testers

HOW WATERPROOF ARE THESE BOOTS?

This boot was validated in the waterproofing test at 30,000 repeatable flexes, i.e. 15 km or 6 hours of walking, in water up to the mid-upper, which today guarantees the best level of waterproofing for your boots.

--> Our assessment indicates a LEVEL OF 3/5 for 6 hours of waterproofing when hiking in the rain.

The details of out boots' waterproof assessment tests are below, in the characteristics section.

MAKING WATERPROOFING LAST LONGER

The waterproofing of boots is often compromised by water getting in at the collar. So to keep your feet dry longer, it's advisable to use waterproof gaiters or mini-gaiters that will keep out water as well as pebbles, mud, sand, etc. The boots waterproof treatment will eventually wear off. You will need to replace it by using a waterproof spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents staining.

CARE ADVICE

1 / Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the boot and remove any dirt or mud.
2/ Then leave to air dry, away from any heat source.
3/ Finish with a re-waterproofing spray to keep the upper's water repellency optimal and to extend the boot's life.

WHICH SIZE SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

WHICH SIZE SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?
For hiking, try taking one boot size up from your usual to ensure optimum comfort when going downhill and to prevent your toes from hitting the toe box. Tip: keep your toenails short and, before heading down, check that your lacing stops your foot from sliding forwards inside the shoe.

5 LEVELS OF WATERPROOFING

During the waterproofing test, we test 5 levels of waterproofing:
2,000 flexes (approximately 4 km, 30 minutes of walking)
10,000 flexes (approximately 10 km, 3 hours of walking)
30,000 flexes (approximately 15 km, 6 hours of walking)
50,000 flexes (approximately 20 km, 8 hours of walking)
100,000 flexes (approximately >20 km, 24 hours of walking)

WATERPROOFING TEST

Our shoes are laboratory tested using two successive tests
Test 1 / We test the efficiency of the membrane only when it is pressured and placed in water; we check the absence of water at the surface, like when you test a "punctured inner tube."
Test 2 / Thanks to mechanical arms that simulate walking, the assembled shoes are immersed in water half-way and undergo thousands of flexes to check that the inside of the shoe remains dry and is therefore waterproof.

BUYING TIPS / HOW DO YOU TRY YOUR BOOTS ON?

How to choose your shoes:
1. Try both boots on, standing up, wearing your hiking socks.
2. Tighten the laces correctly.
3. Check the following two areas of comfort: the heel and the front of the foot when going downhill.
4. Get up to walk with the shoes on.
5. Try on several sizes and several models.
6. Wear your boots for increasingly long periods to wear them in.

1 Year Review - Still Good!!
Daniel (United Kingdom) Used for More than 1 year
A very good boot.
I've worn this boot for a year now. Through all terrain, it seems to hold up. It has been very good in the wet and even held up against deep puddles - not had a wet foot yet.

The boot was a bit stiff but mine seemed to bed in nicely - although after a 7 hour trek, I am ready to take them off! I'm sure that would be the case for any boot mind!
I've not really kept them clean or treated them with anything and they are still doing well.
Goooood..
praditpta (India)
Completed GOECHALA PASS and PIN PARVATI PASS with this shoe .Not found such as a problem with the shoe . Only things it is little heavier than other shoe.Overall good experience till date.
Protective And Appropriate For Difficult Terrain
abhishek (India) Used for More than 1 year
Bought online on advice of Staff at Decathlon Noida. A but heavy and takes time to get used to. But I was forewarned. Went valley of flowers, Hemkunt Sahib and trekked and near Badrinath. Realised it protects twisting of ankle which can be very common in such terrains.
Not Comfortable
Manoj (India) Used for 3 to 8 weeks
Inner surface of the shoe is not very smooth, some hard points is hurts my
feet

Tight fitting and toe too hard
Patrick (United Kingdom) Used for 3 to 8 weeks
Have used these for a number of hiking weekends in a row now and have got blisters each time. The toe cap on the end digs in and even with loose lacing the top of the boot is also uncomfortable. Thought that with time the boots would wear in but this has not been the case. Disappointed as have bought some excellent things from decathlon in the past.
Love them
Hadleigh (United Kingdom) Used for 8 to 12 months
I am a dog walker so wear these boots all day everyday, amazingly comfortable & waterproof.
Because of the distances i do, with each pair i buy a decent pair of inner's but that just something i have always done.
I'm on my 3rd set now & they are just starting to wear out & let in a bit of water BUT Strava tells me i have done over 700 km's in them so really not complaining.
Great value for money, when these ones let go i will certainly just by another pair.
Very Uncomfortable
Nitin (India) Used for 2 week or less
The shoes are very uncomfortable and are very heavy. Better go for a light weight trekking shoes than to opt for these ones
Response of the brand

Hello Nitin

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the product. Since It it very important for a trekking boot to have good cushioning, Waterproof, High ankle, good grip, durable etc. All of these functions are attained by addition of materials which makes it slight heavier but makes a great trek companion.

However we appreciate your feedback and this will go a long way for us to develop right product for you.

Feeling of a plush wrapping around my feet.!!
Jashon (India) Used for 3 to 8 weeks
I have used few trekking shoes now. And Trek 100 is one of the best one considering different aspect of a trekking shoes. Honestly I have not used it specially for trekking yet, but I used it for travelling through Europe in winter. I loved how light it is, with a superb grip it provides on different kind surfaces. The shoe is easy to break into and is more snug and a lot warmer as compared to the previous Trek 100 Shoe.
Very comfortable Shoe
Pankaj (India) Used for 4 to 6 months
I have used this product for several trek and all I can say that its a very comfortable shoe I have bought till now.

Few specific things where this shoe can help you with are protection, waterproof & flexibility.
