Getting around on a scooter is faster and more fun than walking. The MID 9 is kitted out for comfort: front and rear mudguards to protect from wet splashes, brake on the handlebar, suspension, and large wheels (175 mm) to get past small obstacles in town.

Always wear protective equipment when scootering (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads). 

Most serious accidents occur during the first few months; take the time to learn the basics for better speed control and for emergency braking especially on wet ground; use the foot brake when needed.

What does the standard cover?

Check the scooter’s condition before and after each ride to ensure there is no unusual play, cracks, or sharp edges.

The wheels and bearings are wearing parts. They should be checked and replaced if necessary. 

To repair your scooter and extend its life, visit your local Decathlon workshop to order any spare parts you need.

Maintenance

All of our scooters have been lab-tested. These tests check compliance with the European standards for scooters, as well as identifying any wear. For example, one of our tests involves a machine folding the scooter 10,000 times to check its folding system.
Skates are also field-tested so we can gather feedback and really put each product through its paces. The result is a tested, proven product.

The schooling bridle is available in four sizes: Shetland (SHT), Pony (PS), COB (CS) and Horse (FS) to fit all horses.

Sizing

Check that your bridle is properly fitted in a few simple steps. You can slip a finger between the horse's face and browband to check if it is too tight and pressing against any sensitive areas. You can then slip a finger between the headpiece and back of the ears to check if it is pressing too tightly against the ears. The first few times you use the bridle, remember to check for signs of chafing.

Checking that your bridle is properly fitted

How you adjust the noseband strongly affects how relaxed your horse will be. Slip a finger between the horse's face and the noseband, and 2 fingers between the noseband and the cheeks. If not sure how to adjust it, seek professional help. 

A well-adapted noseband:

Clean regularly with glycerine soap and lukewarm water. You can then hydrate your leather with grease applied using a household or special leather cloth. If it starts to feel rough or dry, you can also apply a hydrating conditioner.

Never without your covers:

We created a heavier stirrup iron to improve the stability of the leg position. A stirrup iron weighs 600 g (1.2 kg for the pair).

The opening blade has been designed to be flexible so the feet can pass through in the event of a fall, but it remains very durable. However, it may still break under great strain. If that occurs, we can replace the blade with a new one. To do so, just ask your store to order the replacement part.

Our equestrian designers created this bridle to reduce pressure on the neck and head of your horse for maximum comfort.

This bridle has a bold design that takes your horse's anatomy into account. The sleek, elegant lines feature contrasting white topstitching. This very first version of the anatomical bridle 900 comes in light brown leather and dark brown leather with a navy lining.

Design 

The neck is generally subject to pressure from the bridle head piece as well as from the rider's contact with the cheekpieces. To avoid this, we created a headpiece that frees up the back of the head and the cervical vertebrae with a bridge design that includes two soft foam pads on either side of the neck.

Anatomical headpiece design:

The lower part of the head piece is pre-formed to free the back of the ears, a very sensitive area; it helps relax the horse's mouth. Similarly, the brow band was designed with small fittings on the lower part of the head piece, avoiding pressure on the top of the brow and temples.

Anatomical headpiece and browband design:

The two cheekpieces and noseband are attached by a side loop to spread the pressure from contact of the hand between the neck and noseband instead of between the bit and neck.

Anatomical cheekpiece design:

The back of the noseband has two D-rings so the lower section can move into place to fit your horse's head.  The noseband is fully removable to make it easy to put on and take off. 

Anatomical noseband design:

Instead of a regular throatlash, we created a jowl strap so you can adjust the bridle and noseband position on your horse's head. It needs to be slightly tightened and helps keep the cheekpieces away from the bit and the bridle from the horse's eyes.

High-pressure areas, including the neck, browband, and noseband, are lined with soft foam padding for the horse’s comfort. All fittings that can exert pressure are also padded to reduce chafing.

Reduced chafing

This bridle is sold without the reins. You can find our 900 grip reins, specially developed with this bridle, in our stores or online. They have matching details and come in the same range of colours. 

The 900 bridle comes in 2 sizes: Pony (CS) and horse (FS). CS size is suitable for small-headed horses and section D ponies with large, long heads. FS is suitable for most saddle horses. Each size can be adjusted, making it possible to accommodate a range of medium to large horses.

For optimal protection, the helmet should fit snugly without being too tight. When the straps are properly adjusted, the helmet should not slide forward, back, or from side to side.
The strap should pass under your jaw and not over the chin. It should be tight enough to keep the helmet in place without choking you.

This riding helmet’s shock-absorbing outer shell may partially deform upon impact as it dissipates the energy.

A helmet reduces the severity of head injuries. The protection your riding helmet offers depends on the accident in question. Wearing a helmet does not always prevent death or serious injury.

Care and storage advice

We recommend replacing your riding helmet 5 years after its manufacture date (shown on the label) if your helmet has never suffered an impact and has been stored according to instructions.

Damage may not be visible. Any helmet that has suffered an impact must be replaced.
