I had a string of punctures at the Etape Loch Ness last year - no issues in my weeks of training! It transpired that a key problem was perished rim tape. A simple thing.... but oh it matters. After a temporary ,easure (el;ectrical insulaiton tape) I bought this new rim tape. I
returned to the Etape this year (with new tyres too) and it was great.

These are very good quality and at 20mm wide really fill your wheel rim. A high number of punctures are caused by thin or weak rim tapes. Not so with Decathlon tapes. 99% of cyclists fail to replace standard rim tapes in time. Normal commercial rim tapes are made from the
cheapest, nastiest rubber, of a much lower quality than inner tubes. These Decathlon rim tapes are the Mutts Nutts. I could write a chapter on their positive qualities, but you would soon fall asleep..... Just buy and fettle.....I have a wheel waiting for another Decathlon rim tape.....
