A fin is a piece of swimming training equipment to work the lower body. 
 You can simultaneously work on your heart rate and lower-body strength training (thighs, glutes, calves, core stability).

What are swim fins for?

Mesh caps are not watertight and let water seep through. 
Silicone mesh caps are partially watertight, offering better protection against splashing but letting water in at the seams.
Silicone caps are the most watertight option.
Please note: No swimming cap is 100% watertight. Water can flow underneath, especially around the ears.

Whatever the activity, most exercises are performed with the feet in contact with the ground, which is sometimes abrasive, or with a surface to which the feet are applied (step aerobics, cycling, trampolining, etc.). 
Using shoes helps to reduce friction between the feet and these elements.

Why use shoes?

Wear shoes when aquabiking to prevent injury on the bike’s pedals (unless the pedals are designed to be used barefoot).
When Aquabiking, frequent movements are from a seated to a standing position, putting a lot of weight on the feet on the pedal. These shoes will cushion feet when pressing down on the bike pedal.
