Engineers and product designers work closely together to develop and enrich our collection of soccer goals with innovative models. For the Classic Goal collection, we kept customer feedback in mind as we focused on recreating the feel of playing with a real goal while making sure to create a durable, safe, and high-quality product.

Design

We work with an in-house mechanics lab (on the Btwin Village site) that lets us validate the design of our goals before we put them into production.

For example, to assess a product's solidity, we perform load tests that simulate a child's weight. During this test, we apply a 35 kg (75 lb) load make sure that the goals don't get deformed.

Durability test

To test the durability of the hooks that hold the net in place, our test engineers helped us set up a fatigue test. We were able to verify that, over the course of 5000 cycles, the hooks don't break.
It comes with real 90° steel top corners (for sizes S and M), while the size L is made from aluminum to withstand shots from both large and small balls.

Resistance Test

With a surface treatment (cataphoresis) that allows greater protection against rust, this goal is guaranteed 5 years against corrosion.

The ball size depends on the player’s age and gender.

For durability, choose a rubber ball. If you want a ball with a good feel, leather or synthetic is what you need.

What ball should you use?

A basketball that is overinflated or underinflated doesn’t give you the best match experience.
The recommended pressure is clearly written on the ball by the manufacturer. 
Ideally, you should use a pump with a pressure gauge for precision inflation.
We recommend a pressure of 8.99 psi.

How much should you inflate your basketball?

The official height of a basketball net is 3.05 m [10'] (rim height).
If you want a basketball net for your child, you need something that will grow with them. 
There isn’t an official height for younger kids, so you can choose whatever suits them best.
Up to the age of 10, club nets are set at 2.60 m [8'6"]. 
After the age of 10, both girls and boys play with hoops set at 3.05 m (10').
