Your compass must be flat to detect magnetic north correctly. For example, place your compass in the palm of your hand. When using a map, place the compass on the map on a flat surface.

Make sure the compass is flat when using it:

Use your compass away from magnetic sources or it could lose its bearings: high-voltage power lines, mobile phones, keys, metal objects, etc. Even another compass might affect the direction!

In addition to the padded, ventilated straps, this hiking bag has 2 pads along the entire length of the back. Comfortable and breathable. 
The adjustable chest strap improves the distribution of the load on your shoulders.

How to adjust your Arpenaz 500 Hiking Backpack

Place heavy items in the bottom. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece where you can access it quickly. Place small frequently used items in the pockets (sunscreen, map, glasses, etc.). Put your water bladder in the compartment provided along the back and water bottles in the external pockets.

Design

In addition to its durability, the rubber material of this cap has a higher grip coefficient on hard ground (road, stones, tree roots).
The V-shaped knobs are designed to provide good grip on soft ground (dirt, mud).

Our other technical choices

Push the cap forcefully onto the tip so the flexible material adapts to the tip. It is important to hit the ground hard 2 to 3 times to ensure full insertion.
The grip on the pole tip has been designed so that the cap does not come off easily when walking. The grip is best on a clean tip but decreases if there is any dust or moisture on the tip.
To remove it, pull it off with a twisting motion. This will make it much easier to remove.

Repairs

There is a compartment in the bag to place a water bladder as well as a hole for the tube.
The water bladder is not included, but you can buy a 1-litre (1 qt.), 2-litre (2 qt.), or 3-litre (3 qt.) one in stores.

3 - Put the belt around the waist, and tighten it. 
4 - Tighten the shoulder straps.

How to adjust your backpack

We recommend handwashing your backpack. Use soapy, lukewarm water and focus on the areas in contact with the body (shoulder straps, back, and belt), using a brush if needed.
This is the best way to maintain the fabric’s properties, particularly the waterproofing.
Rinse well with lukewarm water and dry away from heat and sunlight. Store in a dry place.

This spray reactivates the water-repellency of your waterproof products, whether it’s your backpack, tent, boots or clothes.

4-Leave to dry naturally (8 hours) before use or tumble dry on delicate cycle.
Using a heat source increases the effects of the spray product. If you don’t have a tumble dryer, you can use a hair dryer.

First, we came up with the idea of adding microfibre to protect the bottom of the saucepan. Insert the cups, bowls and plates inside, then close it with the cover.
Place the chopping board on top, with the utensils and cutlery held in their pouch. The frying pan is then added to keep everything in place. 
All you have to do is slide the cookset into the cover that locks everything inside with its strap, and you’re done!

The secret of a fuss-free kitchen while hiking? Our PTFE Xylan+ coating! Non-stick, sturdy, and affordable, it’s the travel kitchen pro. 0% PFOA for 100% flavour! Treat it carefully (using soft utensils) and it will serve you for a long time.

Why choose the non-stick coating?

Our plates and bowls are made of polypropylene. While solid and heat-resistant (100°C) and BPA-free, they are not suitable for flames. 
The cutlery and tumblers/mugs are made of stainless steel for more durability. Beware of hot liquids in the mug. 
The utensils, spoon, and spatula are made of bamboo for enhanced comfort and to guarantee the durability of the non-stick coating.
The wooden chopping board can also be used as a trivet.

- a light, breathable fabric (145 g/m²) on the rest of the pants.

What accessories are available for the MT 500 Hiking Pants?

These pants have water-repellent inserts (front of leg, seat) so water slides off the fabric’s surface. This product is water-repellent, not waterproof.

The water repellency prevents the pants from getting wet too quickly. However, this won’t be enough to keep you dry if you’re in steady rain. For intense rain, you will need a pair of rain pants like the MT 500 Hiking Pants (ref. 8736465).

Water repellency can be reactivated using a water-repellent spray (ref. 8800346).

How water-repellent is the component in the reinforcement zones of the MT 500 Hiking Pants?
