How do the BL 100 Ski Base Layer Bottoms fit?

Polyester is the most-used fibre for base garments because it is relatively inexpensive, offers excellent performance, and can be knit to obtain a very lightweight and durable fabric. It actively absorbs moisture but does not dry particularly well when wet.

How does the BL 100 Base Layer Top fit?

You only need three technical layers to stay warm on the slopes: Layer 1 or a base layer, to stay dry. Layer 2 or an insulating layer, to keep heat in. Layer 3 or a protective layer, to protect against bad weather.

Wedze/Quechua helmets and goggles are designed to form an complete unit and prevent gaps between the top of the helmet and the goggles.

Compatibility

Use the adjustment dial to secure your helmet. The dial can be easily adjusted while wearing gloves. It also provides comfort and maximum safety. Turn the dial to the right to tighten and to the left to loosen.

Tightening dial

This type of structure, known as In-Mould, features a polycarbonate outer shell that is moulded directly to the EPS liner. The inner EPS liner absorbs shocks in the event of a collision. The whole thing is extremely lightweight. The In-Mould construction is more sensitive to everyday impacts. We recommend changing your ski helmet at least every five years or if it has sustained a significant impact.

In-Mold construction

Measure the circumference of your head (from the middle of your forehead to the top of your ears) and choose the right size. When trying on the helmet, you should not feel any discomfort. If the helmet does not have a visor, try it on with a pair of goggles: There should be no gaps between the two.

How to choose the right size and trying on your helmet

For your safety, your ski helmet must be properly adjusted:
- The head circumference must be adjusted using the tightening dial.
- The chin strap must be correctly adjusted. You should be able to fit two fingers between the strap and your skin. If it is not adjusted properly, the helmet will not protect you as it should.

Adjust your helmet once you have the right size

We recommend replacing your ski helmet at least every five years unless it has sustained a significant impact in the meantime. In the event of a strong impact, the helmet must be replaced: even if it is not visible, the internal material may be damaged and your helmet will provide less protection.

When should you replace your ski helmet?

Avoid wearing a hat, as this will create a gap between your head and your helmet and reduce your protection. If necessary, opt for a very thin balaclava designed for this purpose. 
Avoid putting a camera on the helmet, as this will compromise your safety. The standard does not take into account any elements added to the helmet.

Helmets used for head protection when downhill skiing and snowboarding are required to meet the European standard EN 1077:2007. This standard ensures that helmets absorb shocks and are resistant to penetration. There are two categories:
- Class A: protects the top and back of the head, as well as the ears and the side of the head.
- Class B: Protects the top and back of the head but does not cover the ears.

All Wedze gloves and mittens have a water-repellent treatment that makes water slide off the fabric’s surface instead of being absorbed. This means the fabric does not become saturated. It remains light and warm. A treatment applied to the outer surface makes the fabric water-repellent. To remain effective, this treatment must be reapplied every 2 to 3 washes with specific products that are available in our stores.

Water repellency of the component

These ski gloves have a water-resistant membrane (a very thin polymer film) between the lining and the outer part of the glove. This membrane acts as a barrier, making the product waterproof. The product’s exterior materials are also treated for water repellency. Only a rubber glove is watertight. Under extremely wet conditions, a glove with a membrane will have limited waterproofness.

All Wedze gloves and mittens are windproof. Did you know that the wind makes you feel colder? At an outside temperature of 0°C and a wind speed of 20 km/h (12 mph), the temperature will feel like -10°C.Windproof fabrics limit wind chill and cold.

An elastic drawstring goes around your wrist so you can remove the gloves on ski lifts without losing them.

Anti-loss system

It reflects how easily you can handle objects while wearing the glove. All our gloves are field-tested and given a dexterity score on a scale of 1 to 5. Gloves with a dexterity score of 5 allow you to handle objects just as you would with bare hands. 
The dexterity score is based on how well we could remove and put on ski goggles, adjust the hooks on a ski boot, and open and close a jacket.

Padding helps keep you warm (100 g/m² on the arms and 150 g/m² on the body). This synthetic, polyester-based lining traps air according to the size of the fibres to keep you warm. 
The comfort temperature according to our laboratory tests is -8°C. This is measured without tights for pants, and with a thermal T-shirt and fleece.

Loose fit The jacket’s sides are straight rather than fitted. This jacket is roomy enough to be worn over a first and second technical layer.

How does the 100 Ski Jacket fit?

The 100 Ski Jacket was rigorously developed and assembled to keep moisture out and reduce wind chill so that you can withstand bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). This jacket’s waterproofing was field-tested in various weather conditions for several days.

The H 100 Downhill Ski Helmet is the most affordably priced model in the Wedze ski helmet range.
For safe skiing by beginners and occasional skiers. This helmet complies with the same standards as the others. However, its comfort and finish are more average compared to the other models. It does not have the same level of quality as a more expensive helmet.

The helmet is injection moulded, with an ABS outer shell capable of withstanding powerful impacts. Durable and resistant to bumps and knocks. The internal Epos skullcap absorbs impact during collisions. We recommend that you change your ski helmet at least every 5 years or following a significant impact.

ABS construction

EN 1077 is a European standard that applies to downhill skiing and snowboarding protective helmets. This standard tests the helmet’s ability to absorb shocks and resist perforation. The 2 classes are:
- Class A: protects the ears and the top, back and sides of the head
.- Class B: Protects the top and back of the head but does not cover the ears.

* Measure the circumference of your head in centimetres (around the middle of the forehead and just above the ears). 
Choose the size that matches this measurement. 
Example: For a head circumference of 56 cm (22 in), try a helmet in size 55–59 cm (21 ½–23 in).

What size?

Take plenty of time to try on the helmet carefully. You shouldn’t feel any discomfort. If you do, try another model. Always try your helmet on with your mask. Not all helmets are compatible with all masks. To be considered compatible, there should be no gap between the goggles and helmet.

Fitting

When skiing, your helmet should be properly fitted and adjusted:
* Choosing the right size is essential.
* Use the adjustment dial to adjust the head circumference.
* Properly adjust the chinstrap.
Think of it like the seat belt in a car: too loose and it won’t do its job to protect you.

Helmet adjustment

For optimal protection, avoid wearing a thick hat under your helmet that could cause it to shift on your head. 
Wear a thin beanie or balaclava instead. Helmets have good insulating properties. They may be all you need. Attaching a camera to your helmet is not a great idea. It could affect your safety. The standard does not account for anything added to the helmet.
