Because choosing a helmet is above all a question of safety, this helmet meets all the most demanding impact standards.

It complies with the European regulation EN1078. 
This standard covers the following aspects: construction (including field of vision), shock absorption properties, retention system features (including the chinstrap and tightening devices), and marking and information.

The size of a helmet is based on your head circumference.

Note that this helmet has MIPS technology. This system slightly modifies the size grid, so if you are at the upper end of the size range we recommend choosing one size up.

Sizes and weight

A helmet’s ventilation is optimal when large entrances for air are connected to exits via canals that let the air circulate. The head is essential for cooling the body during intensive effort.

The evacuation of the heat generated is thus a priority for maintaining a high level of performance.

Poorly placed ventilation can, on the other hand, generate a great loss of aerodynamic performance by significantly increasing drag.

The RCR has a variable ventilation system depending on your position on the bike. The straighter up you are, for instance when climbing a slope, the more effective the system. As soon as you tip down for a descent, the aerodynamics of this helmet will make all the difference.

Ventilation and aerodynamics

This helmet is personal protective equipment (PPE). The protection it provides depends on its condition.
We can only accept helmets returned in new condition. If your helmet doesn't suit you, please return it with the user guide and tags.

Return conditions (specific to PPE)

Helmets don't last forever. To ensure maximum safety, we recommend replacing your helmet at least every 5 to 7 years.  It is important to store it in its case, in a dry, cool place away from sunlight.
Extreme temperatures will deteriorate the helmet's foam more quickly.

After a significant impact, it is essential to replace your helmet, since it may no longer be effective if there are cracks inside the structure.

Technical specifications

These two jackets are very different. The Racer weighs 340 g (12 oz), whereas the Racer Xtrem weighs 680 g (24 oz). 
The Racer is a close-fitting jacket that is very effective for riding in spring, autumn, or mild winter weather. But in temperatures below 7°C, it reaches its limits, and that is when we turn to the Racer Xtrem.

These jackets are water-repellent, not waterproof, so we recommend taking an ultralight rain jacket if there is a chance of rain.

Which jacket should you choose, Racer or Racer Xtrem? 

In order to keep your jacket looking impeccable year after year, we recommend you machine wash it in a 30°C synthetic cycle. Close the zippers before washing your jacket.
Don't tumble dry, and don't use fabric softener! Don't dry clean it either.
Hang dry in a well ventilated area.

A fabric’s waterproofing is determined by measuring its resistance to pressure exerted by a water column, measured in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. These are the waterproof characteristics of the RC100 jacket: 3,000 mm (120") before washing, 2,000 mm (80") after 5 washes.

To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower its resistance, the more perspiration escapes and the more breathable it is. 
•	RET < 6: extremely breathable, suitable for intense workouts
•	RET 6 to 12: breathable, designed for moderate exercise
•	RET 12 to 20: moderately breathable, unsuitable for exercise
•	RET > 20: little breathability, inappropriate for exercise

The RC 100 Rain Jacket is made from coated fabric.

The coating is applied to the fabric’s interior to make it waterproof. It costs less than a waterproof membrane and requires a protective lining.

A membrane is a type of fine micro-perforated film (polyurethane), which makes the fabric waterproof and breathable. It is also very supple, lighter, and more breathable than fabric with a coating.
