Rhythmic gymnastics uses 5 pieces of equipment: ball, hoop, ribbon, clubs and rope. We offer two ranges for each type of equipment. The beginner range offers smaller, lighter equipment that is easier to learn on. This range is ideal for young gymnasts. The intermediate range features slightly larger and heavier equipment that complies with official standards. It is suitable for gymnasts starting at age 12.

How to choose a rhythmic gymnastics outfit

We recommend using your hoop on a surface such as a gymnastics mat or multisports floor because hard surfaces such as wood and concrete will damage it.

Rhythmic gymnasts need the right ribbon length for their age and size.
- Gymnasts under age 11 should choose a 4-metre (13’) ribbon. 
- Gymnasts aged 11 and up should choose a 6-metre (20’) ribbon. 
You can also cut the ribbon to 5 metres (16’) and stitch the end to prevent fraying.

These shoes feature a drawstring to help you get a better fit in the shoe. Tie and cut this drawstring once you get the fit you want. Then slip the end inside the shoes each time you wear them. Tip: You can also secure the end to the inside of the upper with a piece of medical tape.

What are the drawstrings for?

Kids and adults should choose their demi-pointe shoes according to their skill level. In general, beginners start with full-sole demi-pointe shoes before switching to split-sole demi-pointes. The difference between girls/women’s shoes and boys/men’s shoes is the colours. Pink and salmon options are recommended for female dancers while white and black are recommended for male dancers.

Are there different ballet shoes for men, women, boys, and girls?

When choosing your ballet shoes, your feet should feel comfortable and not constrained. To check your size, stand up and go up and down on the demi-pointes several times to see how your toes feel.If you have narrow feet, opt for your normal size. If your feet are normal or wide, choose one size larger than normal.
