3 steps to follow a direction from “A” to “B” or take a bearing with a compass
1 - Lay the compass down on the map. Line up the edge of the compass from point A to point B 2 - Turn the rotating bezel until the lines on the baseplate line up with the longitudinal lines 3 - With the compass held nice and flat in the hand and with the arrow pointing in the direction you’re walking: Turn around until the magnetic needle of the compass is lined up with the north orienting arrow! Now just follow the direction-of-travel arrow!
