Pitching/striking

Quechua tents are tested in the laboratory (assembled tent under 200 litres/m²/hour for 4 hours, the equivalent of a tropical rain storm), as well as in field test missions.
75 denier polyester (PE) flysheet, polyurethane-coated (interior) water-repellent treatment (exterior), PE 75D bedroom floor cover.
Seams sealed with thermo-bonded strips.
Bedroom in breathable and water-repellent PE 66D and part-mosquito net, to avoid contact with drops of condensation.

Waterproofing

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform, where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind.
To guarantee its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70 km/h, measured near ground level.

Wind resistance

Bedroom with mosquito net sections for ventilation and water-repellent fabric sections to protect from condensation and drafts. Large vent at the front of the tent’s flysheet and ventilation at the bottom.
To limit condensation inside your tent, it must be correctly pitched, the canvas stretched out, but not excessively so. The use of ventilation and good air circulation limits humidity inside your tent.
