Size and living space

Lightweight, shock, and frost resistant aluminium pole: 7001 T6 Yunan SD70PF Ø 9 mm aluminium.
Optimized square tent pegs: “anvil” head, oversized main part, extremely resistant and lightweight (7075 T6 aluminium). Non-anodized for a lower environmental impact.

Y-shaped double dome: the main pole splits into 4 feet for a self-standing structure. The top pole provides volume, increasing capacity.

Architecture, tent poles and tent pegs.

Separate flysheet and bedroom. Traditional pitching method: bedroom on the ground, clipped to the poles. Cover the whole tent with the flysheet. Adjust the tautness.
If needed, the bedroom can be dismantled from inside.
Colour coding on the pole, bedroom and flysheet for easy pitching.

When it rains, to pitch the flysheet first, you will need the compatible groundsheet (ref 8545730).

Pitching / Striking

Forclaz tents are laboratory-tested: pitched tent, 200 litres/m²/hour (4 hours, equivalent to a tropical storm). They are also tested in the field by a sample user group.
20 denier polyester (PES) flysheet and 40D polyamide (PA) groundsheet have a polyurethane coating (inside) and silicone (exterior).
Seams taped with heat-sealed strips.
Multi-component bedroom is breathable, protects from the wind and prevents condensation

Waterproofing

All our tents are tested in a wind tunnel on a rotating plate to expose them on all sides.
To test its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy lines in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70 km/h, measured near ground level.

Our tents are certified by the CSTB independent laboratory in Nantes.

Bedroom with mosquito screen for ventilation and water-repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. The two large top ventilation areas close using a Velcro strip.
The tent must be properly pitched and the fabric taut, not over-stretched, to reduce condensation inside. Doors equipped with two-way zippers. Ventilation and proper air circulation limits humidity inside your tent.

Ventilation and condensation prevention

Three-season tent: your tent will protect you from the harsh weather conditions you may encounter in the spring, summer or autumn. It will withstand light snowfall but is not designed to withstand heavy loads that would weigh on the structure.
In case of snow, remember to shake your tent regularly in order to bring down any snow that has accumulated to avoid putting too much weight on the structure of your tent.

Seasons

The poles are coloured using an innovative anodizing method that eliminates the use of nitric and phosphoric acids.
Non-anodized tent pegs:
Your tent pegs may appear rough or used, but they are just as technical and resistant; not coloured or anodized (no acid is used).
These factors help to limit your product’s environmental impact.

As designers and users who love our playing field, we care about the durability of our products. That is why all our tents are designed to be repairable. The detachable parts (poles, bedroom, etc.) are available in store or in the workshop of your local Decathlon, or on the website.

Repairs and after-sales service

This tent is designed for itinerant bivouacking, not for static use in the sun.
Avoid leaving it in the sun to prevent UV light from damaging its ultra-light fabrics.
