Image quality 1
When light passes through the lenses, a small amount is reflected. This results in a slight loss in light transmission. With several optical components, absorption quantity is significant. The lens coating helps to reduce the amount of light lost. However, great image quality comes at a cost. These binoculars have been designed to balance quality and price.
Image quality 2
The binoculars here have a BK7 porro prism with an aluminium coating and lenses with an MC treatment: multi-coatings to reduce light loss. These 2 treatments transmit 70% of light as well as providing good contrast and colour rendition during the day, and good brightness at dusk.
Other features
For occasional use in daylight for a wide field of vision, or in twilight for sufficient brightness, the Porro 10x50 binoculars are extremely practical. They allow observation of all kinds of animals at any time. Take note of the weather and avoid rain as they’re not watertight. They are lightweight with moderate volume, and therefore very well-suited to short trips outdoors.
Exit pupil
The pupil diameter of a human eye ranges from 2–3 mm in daylight, 4–5 mm at dusk, and 6–7 mm in darkness. It’s important to choose a pair of binoculars with an exit pupil at least as wide as your own pupil so you don’t lose any incoming light. The 10x50 binoculars have a 5 mm exit pupil, making them well suited to being used at dusk.
Tips for those who wear glasses and sharpness adjustment
Twist up eyecups for spectacle wearers. For non-spectacle wearers, twist out the eyecups as far as they will go. For spectacle wearers, twist the eyecups down to the binocular body. To obtain a clear, sharp image of the observed animal, turn the central focusing knob to the left or right until you get a sharp image.
Adjustment of dioptre compensation
To compensate for difference in visual acuity between your eyes: Close your right eye and focus on an object about metres away using the central knob. Once the object is sharp, close the other eye and repeat the operation, this time using the dioptre correction ring located near the right eyecup. The difference between your eyes is now compensated for. You no longer need to use the dioptre correction ring.

I was fortunate to find these binoculars as i was exiting the chai chee outlet as it was the only one and was located high above towards the rear of the top shelf. A real value for money pair of binocs. Great for beginners or for average use. Not for stargazing & moongazing. C
omes with storage bag, cleaning cloth and sling. Relatively wide aperture and magnification.
