To ensure greater comfort in the saddle, we created this medium density chamois pad.
The fabric is soft and breathable. The padded zone is soft, with a density of 100 kg/m3 (6 lb/ft3) and a thickness of 13 mm (1/2"). Perforated fabric actively wicks away perspiration. The pad keeps you comfortable on rides of up to 2 hours.

The shape of the padded zones was defined by tests on a sheet of pressure, designed from a dummy moulding and approved after various trials and usage tests. These tests, conducted on real cyclists, involved measuring the pressure points on the saddle. The padded zone covers contact points where pressure is greater. There is a dart at the front for a better fit.

The ischium bone and the perineum are covered and protected. The reinforced area between the legs is relatively narrow to prevent irritation from rubbing while pedalling. Channels have been embossed into the reinforcements to provide greater flexibility.

The purpose of a cycling jacket

To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 Standard). The lower its resistance, the more perspiration escapes and the more breathable it is. 
•	RET < 6: extremely breathable, suitable for intense workouts
•	RET 6 to 12: very breathable, designed for moderate exercise
•	RET 12 to 20: moderately breathable, unsuitable for exercise
•	RET > 20: little breathability, inappropriate for exercise

A softshell is a garment that is windproof and often stretchy for optimum freedom of movement. A softshell is water-repellent (protects from drizzle or splashes from the road) but not waterproof.
However, the membrane provides good breathability (ability to let water vapour generated by the body during exercise escape), so it is well-suited to sports activities.

What is a softshell?

A product’s ability to protect against the cold. It depends on the material’s thermal resistance and ventilation. The higher the thermal resistance, the more body heat the product retains during cycling.
The RC 500 Cycling Jacket’s membraned main fabric is almost completely airtight and has an Rth thermal resistance of 0.019 m² K/W.

Check the sidewall for tire information (diameter and width). For example, 27.5 x 1.90 means a tire with a 27.5” diameter that is 1.90” wide.
The dimensions in mm (ETRTO international unit) are also on the tire sidewall.
For example 50-584 means the tire is 50 mm wide with an inner diameter of 584 mm (or 27.5 x 1.90).

How to choose your inner tube

Remove the old inner tube using Btwin tire levers.

Removing an inner tube

Check the condition of your tire and replace it if necessary. 
Make sure no objects are lodged in the tire.
Check the condition of your tire rim strip.
A rim strip that’s even slightly bent can cause punctures.
Check that your rim doesn’t have any other issues that could damage your inner tube.

Checks to carry out before installing an inner tube

Watch our video before you start.
Pre-inflate the inner tube slightly to avoid pinching.
Make sure you’re using the correct valve for your rim and then insert it.
Put the entire inner tube inside the tire so that it fits inside the rim.
Take care not to pinch the inner tube when installing it.

Installing the inner tube

Start installing the tire at the valve.
Finish installing the tire across from the valve to avoid pinching the inner tube.
Never install your tire with a tool or a tire lever, as you risk pinching or puncturing the inner tube.

Carefully inflate your tire to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer (visible on the tire sidewall in PSI or bars: 1 bar = 14.51 PSI).
Regularly check that your tire is in the correct position as you inflate it.
