Checks to carry out before installing an inner tube

Watch our video before you start.
Pre-inflate the inner tube slightly to avoid pinching.
Make sure you’re using the correct valve for your rim and then insert it.
Put the entire inner tube inside the tire so that it fits inside the rim.
Take care not to pinch the inner tube when installing it.

Installing the inner tube

Start installing the tire at the valve.
Finish installing the tire across from the valve to avoid pinching the inner tube.
Never install your tire with a tool or a tire lever, as you risk pinching or puncturing the inner tube.

Carefully inflate your tire to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer (visible on the tire sidewall in PSI or bars: 1 bar = 14.51 PSI).
Regularly check that your tire is in the correct position as you inflate it.

To ensure greater comfort in the saddle, we created this medium density chamois pad.
The fabric is soft and breathable. The padded zone is soft, with a density of 100 kg/m3 and a thickness of 13 mm. Perforated fabric actively wicks away perspiration. The pad keeps you comfortable on rides of up to 2 hours.

The shape of the padded zones was defined by tests on a sheet of pressure, designed from a dummy moulding and approved after various trials and usage tests. These tests, conducted on real cyclists, involved measuring the pressure points on the saddle. The padded zone covers contact points where pressure is greater. There is a dart at the front for a better fit.

Shape

The ischium bone and the perineum are covered and protected. The reinforced area between the legs is relatively narrow to prevent irritation from rubbing while pedalling. Channels have been embossed into the reinforcements to provide greater flexibility.

Ease of use

This self-adhesive patch kit lets you easily and quickly repair punctures so you can carry on enjoying your bike rides.

Assembly Type

1. Remove the inner tube and locate the puncture
2. Roughen the area around the puncture using the sandpaper
3. Clean and dry this area
4. Apply the self-adhesive patch and press hard on the entire area for around 45 seconds
5. Run your nail over the patch to increase its adhesive power
6. Put the inner tube back in the tire and the tire in the rim
7. Inflate your tire to the recommended pressure.

User tip: 

Optimal lifespan: 3 years at room temperature (16-22°C, 30-70% humidity), away from direct light and in its original packaging.
Minimum temperature for repairs: +10°C 
Temperature for use: -40°C to +65°C

Storage:

Be careful not to touch the sticky part when positioning the patch, so as not to reduce its sticking power.
Remove any air bubbles by pushing from the centre of the patch towards the edges.
Rub the patch with your nail to warm it up and help it stick better.
Finally, press firmly with your thumb, covering the entire patch for 45 seconds to 1 minute (press on a clean, flat surface for greater effectiveness).

Applying the patch: 

A good sanding of the area concerned will give you a better result.
The aim is to obtain a flat, clean surface so the patch holds as well as possible.If the puncture is close to excess material, sand until the excess is removed.
Sanding will create micro-scratches that will allow the glue on your patch to set more easily.
This stage is very important for a lasting repair.

Sanding: 

Clean away any impurities to ensure a clean, flat, and dry area to apply the patch.
Remember: don't use water or any other product to clean your inner tube after sanding. It's essential to have a clean, dry surface to ensure that your patch lasts.

This chamois pad is made from a unique combination of materials that offer the protection you need on your long rides. Both in the ischial and perineal areas. It has a protective, high-density, 120 kg/m3 (7 1/2 lbs/ft3) foam insert. The top layer of fabric, which is in direct contact with the skin, is made from spandex and brushed polyester threads to prevent rubbing and irritation.

Back Position

This saddle is available in two different sizes: 145 mm and 155 mm (5 2/3 and 6"). We conducted tests in collaboration with our research and development laboratory: Decathlon Sportslab. The goal of this study was to be able to recommend the correct saddle size based on the distance between the sit bones, for both male or female road cyclists riding several times a week.

1. Tests conducted with Decathlon SportsLab

For a sit bone distance between 90 and 120 mm (3 1/2 and 4 3/4"), choose the 145 mm (5 2/3") saddle. 
For a sit bone distance between 120 and 140 mm (4 3/4 and 5 1/2"), choose the 155 mm (6") saddle.
If you use a more upright position on your bike (back angle between 45° and 60°), opt for the larger 155 mm (6") saddle. This will provide greater comfort during your rides.

2. Choosing your saddle width

Equipment required: 2 pieces of cardboard, a stool (with a flat surface), a ruler, a pen. 1. Place the two pieces of cardboard on top of each other. 2. Sit on the stool with your back straight. Next, exert force on the stool by pulling it upwards for 1 minute. 3. Stand up and identify the points where your sit bones have pushed into the cardboard. 4. Identify the centre of these two marks and draw a line connecting them.

Make the most of yoru bike ride:

Equipment required: a measuring tape, a book, and a pencil. Stand up, barefoot, with your back against a wall. Keep your feet slightly apart (around 15-20 cm [6-8"] max) and your heels against the wall. Look straight ahead.
b. Next, place the book against the wall and slide it between your legs up to your perineum. Apply a slight force to imitate the pressure of the saddle.

1. Determining your saddle height (part 1)

c. Measure the distance between the top of the book and the floor, and transfer that measurement to your bike. You'll need to multiply the value you get by 0.883. 
(Ex: if you measure 89 cm (35"), you'll need 89 x 0.883 = 78.6 cm (31"). This means that the centre of your saddle to the centre of your bottom bracket should measure 78.6 cm [31"])

1. Determining your saddle height (part 2)

To do this step, adjust the incline to be flat using a bubble level that you place on the front of the saddle (from the centre of the saddle to the tip).
We recommend going on a few rides to find the right saddle incline adjustment.

2. Adjusting the saddle incline

The forward or backward distance of the saddle is very important, since it'll help you be more effective on your ride and reduce discomfort. 
a. Sit on your bike, using a wall to stabilize yourself.
b. Clip your bike shoes into the pedals and place the crank horizontally, parallel to the ground. c. The pedal axle should be aligned with the front of your knee (not too far forward or backward).
