1 - The 150 Classic Cross-Country Skis—the ideal ski for beginners!

If you’re a beginner who wants to learn classic cross-country skiing, mostly for recreation, walking and gliding to observe nature and recharge your batteries without too much physical exertion, the 150 Cross-Country Skis are perfectly suited to your needs! These skis are wide, stable, and manoeuvrable with good edge grip for easily learning and discovering the joys of classic cross-country skiing!

2 - Selecting the right size

Choose a cross-country ski based your ability and weight rather than your height. For the 150 Cross-Country Skis: - 25 to 34 kg (55 to 75 lb) => 125 cm - 30 to 39 kg (66 to 86 lb) => 135 cm - 35 to 44 kg (77 to 97 lb) => 145 cm - 40 to 49 kg (88 to 108 lb)=> 155 cm - 45 to 54 kg (99 to 119 lb) => 165 cm If you’re between two sizes: - For increased comfort, choose the smaller size to ensure manoeuvrability. - For more intensive use, choose the larger size.

3 - Ski skin grip—so simple!

Grip refers to the area located in the centre of the base, on the underside of the ski. It helps you avoid slipping while providing smooth glide performance. There are 3 grip systems:fish scales, grip wax, or skins. The 150 Cross-Country Ski is equipped with a mixed skin grip. Ski skins provide the same quality of grip as fish scale bases but don’t make any noise and don’t require waxing!

Changing your skins

If your ski touring skins are worn, change them. You can go to the workshop to order new ones and get them changed. Ski sizes 125 cm, 135 cm, and 145 cm => 4239126 (ref.) Ski sizes 155 cm and 165 cm => 4239127 (ref.)

4 - Basic auto bindings—simplicity at its finest!

All skis are sold with Rottefella Bindings compatible with NNN, Prolink, and Turnamic boots. The 150 Classic Cross-Country Skis with Skins are equipped with Rottefella basic auto bindings—perfect for beginner skiers. The step-in function lets you press down at the forefoot to put your skis on and remove your skis by pressing the button at the front with the tip of your ski pole.

5 - Waxing: the key to durability!

We recommend waxing the underside of new skis for optimal glide. Several consecutive waxes are best to build up a proper base. To keep skis in top performing condition, remember to wax them often! Check out tutorials on how to wax your skis on our Inovik YouTube channel.

Glossary = ski construction

Our skis are made using a “sandwich” structure: different materials are layered in the core of the ski and across its width. The final product is assembled with a press. Core = the centre of the ski: Wooden (solid or grooved) or composite (honeycomb or Nomex®) Base = the part in contact with snow, made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) Grip = the underside of the ski Sidecuts = a ski’s width at the nose, waist, and tail
