This product can lift majority carbon steel petanque boules in both recreational and competitive games.
Competition-approved stainless steel boules can also be picked up with this boule lifter. Stainless steel recreational boules cannot be retrieved with a boule lifter.
With this boule pick-up, you can also lift cast iron pucks if you play Breton shuffleboard.

Hardness

You should choose your petanque boule based on several factors.

Your playing style (pointer, shooter, all-rounder) will determine
the desired bounce quality (hard, semi-soft, soft, or very soft) 
and the weight of your boule (heavier for pointers and lighter for shooters). 

The size of your hand will determine the boule's diameter.

How to choose the right size

The boule’s hardness is expressed in HRC units or kg/mm².
For example, 45 HRC corresponds to 146 kg/mm². 

The higher the number, the harder the boule. The harder the boule, the less likely it is to get damaged and the higher its elasticity.

What does hardness mean for a petanque boule?

Our competition boules are hollow. This is our manufacturing process: - A lump of steel heated to +/- 1000 C° is flattened and then stamped or forged into a hemisphere 
- These hemispheres are machined inside, welded together, and rotated until they are spherical. 
- The boule is then engraved, baked, and dipped in water. 
- Finally, they are polished or varnished and then inspected.

How competition-approved Geologic boules are made

After each match, wipe away dust with a clean cloth. Oil your petanque boules once a month to prevent them from rusting. Regular cleaning lengthens the lifespan of your petanque boules while keeping them competition ready.

Please note: all new boules are greased to prevent rust during transport. The paint will only stick if the product is applied to a degreased, clean (dust-free) boule.

This product was designed to be applied on the ridges and/or grooves of petanque boules. 

It can be used on the surface of the boule but will need to be reapplied before each match.

The excess paint outside the grooves will wear quickly during play.

How to properly pack your trail running bag

An emergency whistle and water bladder are compulsory for trail running. So, to make preparation easier, they are already included in your 5 L bag!
The 110-decibel emergency whistle is in the front breast pocket, within easy reach.

The new water bladder has a volume of 1 L, which provides two hours of running time between drink stations.

Rescue whistle and water bladder information

Your water bladder has a volume of 1 L and measures 30 x 16 cm (12 x 6.3"). Its tube equipped with a bite valve is 100 cm (39.4") long so that it can be adapted to all body sizes.
What you might not know is that you can easily cut the tube to the length you want for greater running comfort!
Fill the bladder with water between - 20 and + 40 °C. No milk or alcohol. Not microwave safe.
