What size SNB 100 Snowboard should I choose?

In general, for all-terrain use or when learning how to snowboard, choose a size that is 15 to 20 cm shorter than your height. For example, someone who is 1.66 m tall should choose a board between 151 cm and 146 cm in length. A shorter board is easier to control. This is also suggested for people who are light for their height. A bigger board will be more stable at high speeds. 142 cm (30–60 kg) => from 1.56 m to 1.63 m 147 cm (40–70 kg) => from 1.62 m to 1.69 m 152 cm (50–80 kg) => from 1.67 m to 1.74 m

A word from the product manager

The SNB 100 Snowboard is the easiest board to ride in the range. This board is for learning how to snowboard. It is easy to ride and forgiving of mistakes when learning freestyle.

Program/terrain

The SNB 100 Snowboard offers beginner boarders a lot of leeway for mistakes. On piste, it’s easy to turn on all types of snow and offers reassuring grip on hard snow. Its flat camber and large rockers are ideal for freestyle newbies. If you are looking for an affordable board to jib, its flexibility will give you complete satisfaction on every street spot.

Twin tip directional snowboard

The shape of the snowboard is twin tip: The board’s sidecuts are balanced from front to rear for perfect symmetry and centring when riding in both directions. For greater versatility, the 20 mm inserts are offset, making the SNB 100 Snowboard a “false” twin tip. It is directional enough for learning how to snowboard more easily.

Flat camber and long rocker

A flat camber is the best compromise between the traditional camber that brings grip and dynamism and a reverse camber that provides manoeuvrability in rotation but little grip. It is perfect for park freestylers and beginners as: - the flat camber provides stability on modules and on the slopes - the rocker makes it more forgiving in parks and on the slopes as the four corners of the board don’t touch the snow when the board is flat

Slight flex (3/10)

Flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and rear. The flex of this snowboard is around 3/10, making it very tolerant and lively. This is a very consistent type of flex from the front shovel (nose) to the rear shovel (tail), making it reliable and predictable in turns. However, at high speeds or on frozen snow, this board will not carve out turns as well and will have less pop compared to an Endzone 500 Snowboard.

Soft and forgiving torsion

The SNB 100 Snowboard has a torsional flex (stiffness of the board between the feet) of about 2/10, making the board easy to handle and pivot, and more forgiving of edge errors. Soft torsion provides freedom for the feet. It’s ideal at the beginner level: forgiving of edge errors. Soft torsion is also suitable for freestyle, jib, or flat use. Perfect for shredding!

20 mm setback

The setback is when the board’s compression points on the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the centre of the board but set back toward the rear. The bindings are also set back toward the rear by the same distance. 20 mm setback: given that the setback is very slight, this is an all-round board that is almost centred for riding in both directions but also provides balance in turns and rotations.

When should you wax your snowboard?

Dreamscape boards are pre-waxed. Like all snowboards, they require regular maintenance: ideally, wax them every 5 outings and at least once a year: - at the beginning of the season to start with an optimal glide - at the end of the season so that the wax protects the base all summer long

Glide quality: extruded base

The bases are made from polyethylene: - extruded base, with a certain density of polyethylene - sintered base, with a greater density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE) An extruded base provides a normal glide and good resistance over time.

What is a Wide snowboard?

A wide board is wider than normal to prevent larger feet from touching the snow when turning or to increase buoyancy on powder. The width of the board is measured at its centre. At Decathlon, we have defined them as follows: - up to 245 mm: narrow board/shoe size 3.5–6.5 - from 246–255 mm: normal board/shoe size 5–8 - from 256–265 mm: mid-wide/shoe size 7–10 - from 266 mm: wide/shoe size 8.5–13

Can the store mount the bindings on my board for me?

Yes! You can ask your Decathlon store to mount the bindings to suit you. Remember to take your snowboard boots with you to check 2 things are correctly adjusted: 1. The front and back of your binding so that the boot toe and heel overhang by an equal amount on either side 2. The straps on your bindings, which should be properly adjusted for your boots.
